Seems like a local kid who has real world experience and, not just in football, is “beginning a new era”! The try is always harder when it’s (home).

Will LC evolve from a basketball school to a football school? They have been up and down over the years but mostly down.

The day coach Marston resigned , Administrators promised players they would hire a man with head coaching experience from the outside and none of the assistants would be moved up . Of all the assistants this is the one the players didn’t want . Inexperienced, arrogant & sarcastic to players worst choice they could have made . Be lucky to win 5 games next 2 years

I'm assuming Kit Hartsfield turned them down.  Seemed like an easy hire.  Kit's a Lawrence County guy with head coaching experience whose wife works in the system currently.  Maybe he decided Mt. Pleasant was the better job -  I would be willing to bet Mt. Pleasant pays better.

This hire keeps Lawrence County doing what they've always done...

Kit Hartsfield wasn't given a chance to turn them down. Lawrence County didn't want to upset the status quo so they promoted within

EXACTLY. The players , parents. Fans wanted and were promised an outside coach. Kit listed Gary Rankin as a reference and the AD didn’t know who he was. Big let down. Hoping HB-25 forces  t$$aa to pass 1- time transfer rule

Rankin wouldn't have been the only coach with a gold ball that would have given him a recommendation either. At some point, allowing a HC to stay for 22 years with a Win % of 43 tells you all you need to know about what they think of football
