rhinob59
I saw David Harrison from Brentwood Academy on ESPN tonight playing for Colorado. Does anyone know why he got thrown out? All I saw was him go after a guy from the other team and then get escorted off the court by the police. Also, he's put on a bundle of muscle mass..he looked good, but what's with him getting thrown out?
Opperman
From the AP story: The game against Colorado became tense in the second half when Colorado center David Harrison drew two quick technicals and appeared to want a fight with a Tech player. Police were called to the court to escort Harrison off the floor after he was ejected. The first technical was called at 15:49. The second came at 13:03 after an offensive foul against Michel Morandais. Tech's Pawel Storozynski also was called for one because he and Harrison bumped one another after the foul was called. A couple of seconds later, Harrison began to move toward the center of the floor, where Storozynski was standing with teammates. Storozynski saw Harrison coming and put up his fists to prepare to defend himself, but Harrison's teammates and coaches pulled Harrison back. Harrison was then ejected from the game. Morandais claimed Harrison took a punch from Storozynski. "That's the way (the Red Raiders) were playing the whole game,'' he said. "I understand it's the Big 12 and everything and it's supposed to be physical. But their players were cheap-shotting us all game. They call a foul on David, who was bleeding, and then they call a technical on him.'' Knight said he's unsure how the melee began. "I didn't see it from where I was,'' he said. "I have no idea what happened.'' Buffaloes coach Ricardo Patton said Harrison feels "players who are playing against him can do things a certain way, and he's not allowed to play the same way. From a coaching standpoint, that's hard to watch.''
warehouse
Reguardless of what happened he should be playing at Vanderbilt.
Guest MdG
David pouted about getting pushed around by kids 80 lbs. lighter and 7 inches shorter than him in high school. I guess some things never change!
RealGoEagles
He shouldn't have done what he did, but he DID get absolutely mugged on the play. I guarantee you, you would not have the guts, to say that to David's face nor the cajones to back it up. He's playing D-I basketball, what are you doing that puts you in position to criticize. SouthTnLooker
he and the other forward had by scuffling all game and he was pushed over the edge when he caught the ball in the post, turned to dropped step and was just blatantly slapped in the mouth. It wouldve probably made m just as mad but on a national scene ya gotta keep your cool cause everyone gets word of it.
swish1
David is a good kid that loves the game. The officials should have been ejected for not calling such a blatent, obvious mugging!
z0s022
he really did. That guy busted his nose though...and I think the reason he flipped out is they called an offensive foul on Harrison.
WesVLT
While I am certainly disappointed with David's actions, I can assure everyone that his temper tantrum was completely out of character. He just got a bit into the moment, as we have all been known to do at times. Best of luck to him and the Buffs for the rest of the year. itzme
If you have ever played basketball at the competitive High School level or above, you know that an outburst like that can happen to anyone in a physical game. If it's a pattern of behavior, that's one thing, but a one-time occurence...big deal.
FHSrebel27
Oh I don't know. I think it'd be safe to say David can be quite agressive. I don't know enough about this situation to comment on specifically but I do know I'm glad I'm going to Oklahoma so I'll get to see him play when he comes to town. Always enjoyed watching him.
