EzellSoftball04
It was all luck. I am not a short-stop, but I can pretend to be for a few weeks if it helps my team. Good luck this week, and explain to your girls that newspapers don't always use quotes in the context in which they were said. I thought your pitcher would know that, but I guess not. THE KING
Daranda Byrd, sister of Mr. Football, Mark Byrd is one of the best up and coming shortstops in the state. While Cloudland is not a state contender, (yet) she has been very impressive with her stops and range. She also has led the team in batting her 8th grade and freshman year. She has close to a .500 batting average and will only improve as she gets older. There is another Byrd in town.

sd189
Lauren Upton from Soddy is pretty good. She had a .9someting fielding % last year as a freshman. Her and Kacy Cooper are the best middle infield combo in the state, and both are sophomores.
setter1704tgr
Rachel Gentry from Gordonsville is #1 in my book. She has been starting since her freshman year (she is now a junior). She has also been batting leadoff since her first year of summer ball (12 and under). Rachel is very athletic. She has awesome coverage of her terriory (as well as a little bit of the outfield) and has a smooth, accurate shot from any position. The best thing about Rachel is she has a great attitude. She doesn't get down on herself or anyone else, and she always gives 100%. Rach, I'm so proud of all you have done and am glad to have been your teammate.
