If you had to pick, one and only one, who would be the greatest football player whom ever attended your school?

Chad Clifton from Westview. He went to Tennessee and now playes for the Packers and starts. Not to mention he was the first pickof the second round that year. While he was at Westview he won Mr. Football Lineman.

At Coffee County, no doubt, Chris Elam. 1950 yards during senior year, including 300 against lincoln and franklin county, and 385 against mcminn county in 1st round of playoffs in '97.

Steve Sloan/Bradley County, Led Bradley to state championships in Football, Basketball and Golf in the early 60's. Won a football national championship at Alabama. Played a couple of years for the Atlanta Falcons. Went on to a successful coaching career at Mississippi, Vanderbilt, and Texas Tech to name a few schools. Is current Athletic Director at UT Chattanooga and former AD at Central Florida.

MBA: Bill Wade. After graduating from MBA, he went on to Vanderbilt and ultimately to the NFL in 1952, when he was the #1 pick in the NFL Draft. He played 7 years with the Rams and 6 with the Bears, throwing for over 18,000 yards and 124 TDs. He twice was voted to all-conference and Pro Bowl teams.

My pick would probably be Terry Kirby. He was my age and played at my High School in Virginia. At Tabb, along with Chris Slade, he was all-state in football and basketball. He went on to star with the Virginia Cavaliers football team and led them to the Sugar Bowl barely losing to a Tennessee team led by Amsler and Thompson. He is currently in the N.F.L.

I would have to say Harry Galbreath was the best to ever play at CHS. But I'm sure some of the old guard would argue for some of the player's from the 60's & 70's.

That's a tough question since we've had so many "greats." However, I'd have to give the nod to Toki McCray. He was an awesome QB and signed a D-1 scholarship. He could throw it 80+ yards and hit the goalposts from midfield on his knees. Don't none of you maryville haters get on here and say it ain't true either cause I had enuf you all.

My school (Centennial) has only been around for seven years . But I'd have to say Barry O'Neal. Started three years at C,OG,DT and pretty well had his way with whomever he wanted all three years. 6'2 and about 285 for most of his career. Smart, strong, quick, aggressive. All Region, County, and Midstate every year he started.

I am not saying it is not true, just hard to imagine. The longest pass that I remember in the NFL Q.B. challenge was 77 or 78 yards by Randall Cunningham, 80+ woud be amazing. By the way I am not a Maryville fan. I am from middle TN. I have nothing against either school.
