Great Eight

This track meet is supposed to represent the best eight runners in the Mid-State area in their respected event. Each event in the Vanderbilt Great Eight seems to be as close as the next. What are some predictions on who you all think the winners will be.

As always, Great 8 is going to rock. If you are near Nashville Thursday evening, go make it over there to check it out, you will enjoy the format and the competition. With all the good matchups on paper, an especially intriguing one is Miranda Clark (AAA 400m champ) v. the USN freshman who is the reigning DII champ as an 8th grader in the 400m last year, each of which who are capable of going in the 55 flat territory. Third place in that race could be 57 something. Man.

We've only got 5 kids in the meet this year, it seemed to be a lot tougher to get folks in. If anybody else is going, come over and say hello. I'll be camped by the long jump pit in an ez chair eating cheetoes....

I am assuming this is just middle Tennessee? Is this sort of equivelant to the Best of Preps in the Chattanooga Area?Just wondering????

All I know is Chris Pearson is a lock to win the 200m. That man puts speed into a new meaning. He is the fastest human I've seen in person. No disrespect to anyone else but I don't see anybody beating him.

Unless his boy Ray Ray Harrell trips him coming out of the blocks.I figure Chris has the 100/200 sweep going tomorrow night. And I've been informed that this is a brand new Mondo surface which is supposed to be insanely fast. Don't blink.

I still think that wont make a difference. Maybe a 100 but not in his specialty, the 200. I have seen him hawk people ridiculously in the 4X200 last year and he is faster now. If you people think I'm crazy watch him tomorrow and judge for yourself. I'll jus put it like this, his only losses in the 200m came to Sean Waller, and we all know about him........

I am wondering why there is not many guys BA distance runners on the list? (I know nothing can be done now) But c'mon, they have proven themselves against many good teams this year, and Bumbi is the most dominant distance runner in the middle region. Any answers?

I don't know about the other BA runners, but Bumbi is running in the Vol Classic this weekend, where he will run the 3200.

Most definantly, my teammates CP and Ray Ray will "wreck shop". I don't think anyone in prep school can beat Chris. his speed is sick I know because I handoff to him on the 4x100 relay and I'm always trying to chase and catch him.

Pearson is a very talented runner, but I know that he's not the only person running in this track meet. Are there any predictions on the 400, 800, 110m HH, and 300m IH?
