uh oh , jpats i just think you contradicted yourself, cuz i believe way back when that you were hailing scotter and jennings as the greatest college prospects to walk the planet and all this crap and now your saying that 2 other guys will be the big play makers ?! i am confused

Shady04,

The Mid-State isn't as superior as you think.

In A; Cloudland, Greenback, and South Pitt will be front runners in the state title race.

In AA; Oliver Springs, Sweetwater, Wartburg, and Gatlinburg-Pittman will field strong teams that will compete w/ the "non-recruiting" privates.

In AAA; Region 2. That's all that needs said.

In AAAA; Knox Central, Maryville, Mo West, and Greenville. End of discussion.

In AAAAA; D-B is strong, Oak Ridge is always strong, Ootawah (spelling?) and Farragut will be tough, and Jeff Co. will be very strong. Jeff Co. has the best coach in the state in Scott Meadows, the man lead Sequoyah to a 7-3 record and a deep run into the playoffs for Pete's sake.

rb: houston, jennings, shiverdecker, trey reliford, d. reliford, houseal, hoover, carson, etc... wr: brown, cantrell, acuff, pewitt (moved from qb to wr), worth, etc... lb: jennings, carson, vickers, reliford, delph, bowlin, gray, etc... do you need more. i'll say it again, watch for shiverdecker and brown to be the big playmakers this yr.

ben is qb, too slow to play WR, where did you get that from?? worth???? carson is a db......delph, bowlin, gray?????? and yes i would like some more, you said we were 3 deep at oline, preferable T's, G's, and C's, and the dline, preferable DT's and DE's. and the secondary would be nice too..........since you're the jeff county guru and all

jpat you dumby. i'd like to know the names of all these "3 deep positions" your yapping about. can you tell me, im clueless??? ;)

hey, how about you putting your opinion on the line, or are you afraid? your the type that will say that jeff might finish 7-3 this yr and win one maybe two games in the playoffs.

It is amazing the activity on here late tonight (or I should say early this morning). I guess everyone just needs high school football bad. I know I do! OSHS, shady was talking about 5A dominance... this is a 5A thread. The state champion in 5A will come from either region 6 or 4...perhaps even region 5 if they can heat things up. Franklin, Brentwood, Oakland, Riverdale, Gallatin... I could go on and on.

I wonder if this little battle between jpats and jeffco is staged? I doubt it though. jpats is just a little confused in the head, that's all. But hey, I understand being fanatical about your team. But, a little realism is always needed. I learned this the hard way last year during the week of the regular season game vs Brentwood.

be more than happy too............does jeff have talent-yes..........do they have speed-yes.........do they have a great coaching staff-yes............are they going to go 15-0, and have NO injuries what so ever, and blow everybody out by 4 tds like you're saying-probably not. if things fall in place w/a little luck, do they have a chance to be playing in december-yes. but like EVERYBODY is trying to tell you, games are played on the field, not on a message board. there are some nice wooded areas in jefferson city and dandridge, i'd start staking out some hiding places if i was you. cuz no matter what jeff county does, if they dont go 15-0 and win by 4 tds everytime out, you're gonna hear about it.

So you're saying Oak Ridge, D-B or Jeff don't have a shot? I know Corey Booker probably thinks different as does Scott Meadows. The tradition between Jeff and Oak Ridge is more than any Mid-State 5A team could shake a stick at, and the talent pool hasn't run dry yet.

carson was a lb last yr and is being looked at to play ss, but that isn't in stone. ben has moved to wr; he has good hands and is very smart when it comes to running routs; bowlin is his backup. dt's are mason, yeary, elliot, and a couple of big soph's that chad cox told me about. oh, did scooter ever gain over 400 yds rushing in one game as an 8th grader? no! well, shiverdecker did.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
