Wartburg vs Rockwood

Kingston's guys hadn't played a full game coming into Rockwood. ANd you have to wonder if that affected them. Wartburg may have the same problem. Rockwood's guys have had to play all out two weeks in a row. They are well prepared for a big game.

All I can say is if Rockwood underestimates Wartburg..then they will be beat. And you can't say just becuase Wartburg didn't play top notch teams they will lose. This is their top notch team and they are ready to knock them off. All I can say is Big Heads will lose the game for Rockwood. My prediction is.....Rockwood 26 Wartburg 19. Should be a good game

Wartburg by two TDs, please !!! Tigers have a stingy D. I'll admit that the Bulldogs have a tough team, but it's hard to judge them by who they've beaten. It's not there fault, you have to play those conty rivals. The Tigers will be ready by playing a tougher schedule and have been envoled in closer games. Don't get me wrong, it will be a tough game, but I think Rockwood has too strong an 0-line and running game for the DAWGS. Look for the DAWGS to get beat by the pass if they stack the line.

Should be a good game. Let's just hope Rockwood don't let the Kingston game get to their heads (which I don't think it will). Wartburg hasn't played the kind of competion Rockwood has. It will be a toss up for who ever wants it the most. My prediction is:

Don't take this the wrong way or anything, but c'mon. The tigers have beat this bunch 2 years in a row. All we have to do is keep on doing what we've done for the past two years and we got it. We can't over look this game, that's given. The Rwood senior leadership won't let that happen. We won't go in to this game with a big head, we go into it with confidence. We know we can play in a big game situation and this is as big as it gets. It's playoff ranking time. Let's take 'em one at a time men. I hear a lot of talk about wartburg's running game, I don't remember their backs names. There are three of em, not important anyway. What i"m saying is that Kingston had a 4 deep back field and we still stopped them, though not as easily as I would have liked.

This will be a good ballgame, . The dogs will have to capitalize on any opportunities they may get. If the dogs Blitz their backers and have thier ends stick the QB every play, they could make this a long game for the tigers. If R.wood can get outside and use the sideline, then in it will be a long game for the Dawgs. Prediction: Dawgs will upset The tigers: 22 to 13.

I think rockwood has beat Wartburg longer than 2 years in a row. More like 3 LOL. Cause Wartburg beat us my freshman yeah I remember that and it was in 99.

It will be a good game but rockwood winning against kingston will help central more than anything. if Rockwood didnt win another game they would be happy that they beat kingston. But they cant look down on central yet.Friday night will determan who will be what i think rockwood has the better chance but central wont jus lay down....................

I think that this game will be pretty good on both sides becasue we are coming off a big win, but they will have to forget about Kingston and look to Wartburg. Because they just aint going to let us go up there and walk all over them they are going to give us a game, but I think our defense had an awesome game. And the reason I say that is because it is kinda hard to stop a team like Kingston 3 or more times inside the 10 yard line, like we did and thats why I think Wartburg better be on their top game because if our defense plays like they did friday there will be no chance for Wartburg. And if our running game gets hot there is no slowing us down at all and we will just run all over Wartburg left and right. So here is my prediction.

The question is the coaches. Webb was on the staff at Rockwood that Jimmy Gibson was the DC. He knows how Gibson thinks. But L.Davis was also the Rockwood program during these days. He was in the booth on Friday nights. He knows Webb and his ways.

Having seen both teams play and talking to both coaches earlier this evening, I think this could be one of the best games in the state to watch this week. Rockwood has played the tougher schedule and are tested and have won 3 straight against the Bulldogs, while Wartburg starters have only played in one fourth quarter all season (at Coalfield). The game will be won up front and with the kicking game. I look for a low scoring game and the winner will be in the drivers seat for the Region 2AA crown. Can't wait to watch the Game of the Week this Friday night on John R. Dillon Field. I will hold off on any predictions until after the paper comes out Tuesday night.
