Allow me to play devil's advocate for a moment...

Franklin- do they really belong? Sure, they had a great year last year and this year is looking bright so far. But does making it to the quarterfinals one year automatically mean you belong?

Of course they do.

And of course Centennial does as well. As I've said before, if you make the playoffs out of region 6-5A, you belong. We might even see them win that playoff game this year.

This thread is silly. This is about a Page person having some issues with Centennial, mainly Coach Gregory. He has his moments but he also has done more with the Cougar program than anyone else. Centennial belongs, period.

Is sportsguy really Coach Gregory????????? Most of the people who post on here about our county have opinions which are to some extent open-minded. But this sportsguy really has a burr under his saddle about Page. Hey sportsguy...I know Page finished this last game big time.....where is your open mind on that one?? Unless you are Gregory and some think you are...you don't know squat about scheduling and balancing region games. This was discussed in a prior thread in regard to BGA.

If they are redrawing the lines for Franklin and Williamson County I can honestly say that the best athletes do live in and around Natchez Street area. When I coached in Williamson County those athletes were the best! Unless things have changed, you will see the Board looking closely at dividing those kids up between the schools! Wherever those kids go, you will see winning football programs, if the other factors are in place!

Thanks for the clarification, cowboys. I guess I do see your point in a way. I think truly coming into their own and being established within the region will come when they knock off one of the neighborhood rivals. At the same time, all three schools respect each other and take the game very seriously, so that would allude to them not feeling like they're that much better than one another. I suppose its how you view it.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Yes, that's why he was at the Franklin-Oakland game when Centennial was playing Pearl. sportsguy1976 is not Coach Gregory, I assure you of that. And no, he does know more than you think.

Boneal... how well do you think those Thompson Station and North Spring Hill kids will do at the new high school (football) and will any of those kids from inside the city of Franklin be zoned to the new school?

Rebels- I give that your region is a tough region as far as the top 3-4. Clarksville weak, Kenwood a laugher, Henry another laugher. Now come on the top four every year will be Brentwood, Franklin, Dickson, Centennial. No particular order. So finishing 4th is no great achievement. Now for Centennial to finish in the top 3 that would be an achievement. Your region is good because of the toop 4 teams not top to bottom. Just like Page's region. They have 4 good teams. Creek Wood, Giles, and Montgomery are not powers. So don't use the BS that if they can finish in top 4 of this region then yes they belong. That doesn't wash!!! Those bottom 3 teams don't belong in 5A at this point.

    • Congratulations to Huntingdon and Station Camp. Lots of good softball in Tennessee. Alcoa been media favorite last two seasons.
    • Im more of a Basketball follower than football and like I said we play what we have, there is no going and recruiting or even talking kids into transferring…..and to rebut about Memphis teams in finals I’ve watched Memphis East and Penny Hardaway with the enrollment of a single A team play up and dominate any and all challengers for years! They aren’t the only ones either Mike Miller and son at Germantown put together that super team a couple years ago that ran through the rest of the state! Other teams from Memphis or Chatt or Nash or any large populated area pop up and are relevant out of nowhere every year because they get an influx of talent be it from a new coach or AAU affiliations it happens in football also just like any other sport! I hope these two schools that close join together and get to play the team you support, then you may see it differently! I find it funny some of you think recruiting and resources don’t matter . The county schools get very little funding also but you don’t want to get me started on that part!
    • No doubt. ORC a good dude.
    • In a total classless move, Coach Simmons once again shows his true colors. Waits till the day after school is out to let everyone know he is leaving. Fails up to a community college job after a lackluster 2 year span at GH. And do not tell me about the state run that saved a sub .500 season and plenty of whippings by Cookeville and Lebanon.  Looks like the girls job at GH is cursed. Terrible MS program/coaches feeding what is turning out to be a joke of a HS team.
