Ok, so I screwed up on my last list. Here's my updated list of key returning players for the Ooltewah Owls:

1. Blake McDade(So) - LB

2. Kyler Burke(So) - LB/FB

3. Marcus Williams(Jr) - RB

4. Jonathon Abraham(So) - OL/DL

4. Zach Woods(So) - QB

5. Justin Higdon(Jr) - QB/DB

6. Matt Lowe(So) - WR/DB

7. Alex Green(Jr) - LB/OL/DL

8. Nic Robinson(Jr) - OL/DL

9. Hunter Hydas(So) - CB/RB

10. Philip Bishop(Jr) - LB/FB

Those are my top ten, now here are my next 5 (Honorable Mention) in NO CERTAIN ORDER...

11. Randy Lowe

12. Mark Hydas

13. Brent Burke

14. Tim McDade

15. Steve Woods

As a matter of fact, depending on how the season goes, these 5 could work their way to the top and you actually might see them in the AP All-State team for 5A at the season's end. If that happens, be certain to say "Grad, you were right!"

Go Owls!

From Boyd Buchanan, Key Returning Players -

(1) Jason Davis, Linebacker

(2) Matt Peardon, Tailback

(3) Matt Henley, Fullback

(4) Tripp Wingo, Wide Reciever

(5) Chris Payne, OL/DL

(6) Drew Akins, WR/QB

(7) Daniel Atchley, WR/DB

(8) Josh Macintyre, OL

(9) Hunter Wallace, WR

(10) Lindsey Roberts, OL/DL

Boyd will obviously have to have some kids step up next year after losing key starters such as Jeremy Davis, and their entire Defensive Line. There is talk of a couple currently ineligible kids coming in next year helping out on the line, which should fill in the gaps, and the backfield looks to be set. The Bucs should have another strong team next year.

Top Player Returning in 2004.........

mr. TYRONE COBB at FULTON HIGH SCHOOL in KNOXVILLE! He made the all-state team his Freshman year in 2002. Also started Varisty as a freshman and helped take the 2002 Falcons to the State Championship. Due to an unfortunate situation, he was not able to play this year. But he will be back and better than ever in 04! Remember this name....he'll be doing big things next year!

As ALWAYs....GO FALCONS!

Oak Ridge was loaded with 30 seniors this year. If you had a chance to watch the "undefeated" jv team, you saw some juniors and sophmores who will definitely step up when given the opportunity:

Revel Coffey

Pun Fletcher

J. J. Wells

Jaime Qualls

and a host of others !

The class of 2004 returns to take care of unfinished business.

ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!

I know you were trying to stay within 10, but some other starters who have played well that return are:

Robert Coleman DB

Weston Perry P, PK

Henry Woodard RB/DB

The offense should be as good next year as this year. The defense may give up 14 points more per game. However, +14 would have been enough to win every game except the SP play-off game this year. So, I like the outlook for next year.

Rhyne Douglas of Oneida was on mark for 1000 yards rushing then hurt his back, and in the next game tore his ACL. He was pre-season all state at safety. Will be a senior next year.

But its hard to come back from an ACL tear. I hope the best to you all though.
