Returning Juniors From Brentwood Academy

Barry Turner - DE/TE

Nick Forte - DL/OL

Steven Burris - DL/OL

Tyler Griffin - QB/FS

Parker Cason - LB/TE

There are a few more than that, I think. There are at least two or three more that see significant playing time. Also, a couple of Sophomores who have contributed.

Sycamore had a great year and lost a heartbreaker last night. They are losing some key players. Both guards, both defensive ends, their best receiver and safety, and a very good TE. All of these people made some big plays. But Sycamore does have most of their offensive weapons and defensive stoppers coming back. Sycamore will have an even better season next year with all of these people coming back. Here are some of their returning starters.

-JOSH GARZA-QB (1700 passing, 1100 rushing, 20 total TD's)

-MAURICE POLK-RB (1100 yards, 12 TD's and those are pretty good number considering how much Sycamore passes)

-MICHAEL BOOKER-LT (6'3 270 gave up very few if any sacks during Garza's 27 pass attempts and always cleared a hole for the runner)

-DUSTIN JOHNSON-C (Sycamore was in the shotgun about 350-400 times this year and not ONE bad snap, that's hard to do for a center with someone in your face)

-JEM MOORE-MLB/FB (Amazingly strong kid. Was only a sophmore this year and started at MLB the whole year and played alot of fullback. A hard hitter on defense. A hard runner with soft hands out of the backfield on offense.)

-KYLE GRAHAM-CB (Only a sophmore and started at CB alot of the year. He's fast and has good hands. Plays RB on offense but might go to WR next year since Sycamore is losing alot of receivers.)

-JUSTIN MCCAIN-CB/WR (Had a broken thumb the first few weeks of the season so he coudn't play any receiver. A really fast kid who is always in the right spot on defense and has amazing hands. A very sure tackler.)

-JAKE VAUGHN-LB (He is the heart of the defense. Lays some hard hits and makes some great stops. Should be even better next year.)

-MIKE KREGER-SS (A great defensive player. Can stop the run, and is never out of position on a pass. A great tackler.

-LOGAN MORRIS-DT (6'3 250, a big kid who's got some quickness. Blew up alot of plays in the backfield this year, looking for even more next year.)

Steve McBride an unbelievable transfer from Los Angeles, CA is the real deal at RB and a cover corner. Scored McMinn's only TD and recorded well over 100 yds rushing and an INT in a tough loss vs an excellent Dobyns Bennett squad. Can and will run down most anyone in the state. Look for him to make a lot of noise next season.

My personel feelings even though some don't see it we can get over somethings that happened in a couple of games this year Sequatchie County should really be no worse or better than they were this year competing for 2nd in the region. This next years team will be good enough to get a playoff spot!

#7 Chad Lockhart 5'11, 155 The Senior will probably move from tailback to QB although there is one kid who didn't play this season I hope returns to lineup at QB so Lockhart can stay at RB.

The Indians return all the starting tailbacks in

#42 Justin Price RB/LB/DB 6'2, 175 (SR) will probably move from LB to corner this next season.

#26 Chase Whited TB/LB 5'11, 180 (JR)

#8 Brandon Lewis RB/LB 6'2, 170 (JR)

#40 Justin Walden TB/LB 6'0, 155 (SO) has loads of potential if he can keep to the books and the practice field!

also add in

#21 Adam Basham RB/LB 5'11 185 (SR) Adam, played for the first time on the team this season and I don't think he dropped a pass that was thrown to him. I see him moving into the WR rotation!

#15 Clint Schrader WR/DB 5'9, 150 (SR) will be in the wr rotation.

#84 Ronnie Casey TE/DE 6'0, 175 (JR) had a 100yrd recieving game against Marion this season. Needs to work on his route running and continue improvement on pass catching. If he makes a leap like he did this pass summer lookout he could be very good before he graduates.

If these guys can make up a good Offensive & Defensive line if they play to there potential!

#52 Scott Yell OT/NT 6'2, 240 (SR)

#70 Aubree Hobbs OG/DE 6'0, 195 (SR)

#57 Daniel Ashby C/NT 6'1, 215 (SR)

the other two starters will probably be

#54 Chuck French OT/DT 6'0, 240 (JR) has shown flashes of being a very good lineman on O&D!

#67 Benton Kerley OG/DE 5'11, 190 (JR)

This is just how I feel but I think this team will be able to continue to compete with most anyone they step on the field against!

Burton Elrod (QB) - Lipscomb....he led them to their 2A state championship in 2002 as a sophmore, and will eventually do the same this year. Pat Turner will bring back his A-game next year as well (6'4, 200 lbs.). Also Austin Rodgers from Lipscomb, who as a junior ran a 4.4 40 yard dash. He has spped, mobility, endurence,ect.....
