According to the voice of the Wildcats (who is a very fine broadcaster and a good honest man) it was on the Dewey Warren radio talk show, in Knoxville, AM 850. A caller called in to say that Duran had injured his hand by closing the car door on it...this info is on another thread.

Exact opposite of the 1st meeting.

DB dominated the 1st half.. Totally.. but failed to score enough points. Halftime was DB 17-OR 7. OR had 4 1st half turnovers....

OR dominated the 2nd half. They scored and opening TD Drive, that took 5:32. DB drove all the way from their 9 yd line to deep inside OR Territory, but,,,,FUMBLE... That was the game. Right there. DB had 4 2nd Half turnovers.

DB HAD A GREAT SEASON. FINAL 8 in a rebuilding year. I am proud of the Tribe.

Great Season Seniors. Great High School Career to this Senior Class. 2 Final 4's and 1 Final 8. That is awesome.

GOOD LUCK TO THE OAK RIDGE WILDCATS.... I HOPE YOU WIN THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

I agree with Art. The DB fumble at the OR killed DB.

Great DB senior class.

Both teams had four turnovers. Still a very hard hitting game.

Great atmosphere for the game. The place was packed. Lot of OR fans on the visitor's side. If someone could bottle that atmosphere, they could make a ton of money! ;)B):)

Contender, I'm #77 that broke my leg last time we played. I'm doing really good and I'll definately be back next year. I dont know if anyone noticed, but I was dressed in full gear last night and a game captain to really motivate my team. There's nothing more I could have wanted than to see my teammates go out there and beat the Indians. Congradulations to DB for a great season, but now it's time for the Wildcats to roll!

Hey Wildcat fans,

To start the game, The OR team ran on thru a Sign that said somtheing like

"Smoke the Chiefs!"

What was the deal with that? Was that just Cheerleader error or did Chiefs mean something else? Just curious....It was a huge topic of discussion in the DB Stands when it was raised up. 10 different people ask me what was up with that...

The Crowd was Electric. Me and Spear was down Field Side during pre-game, and man..... those DB boys were geting more and more pumped up by the second. I was wondering if they may get too hyped up.. sometimes that energy can only go so long..... I know by the time halftime rolled around, I was about out of gas setting in the stands.

OR won the game, because they stopped hurting themselves. I thought in the 1st half of the 1st back in Spet. that this was 1 of the greatest HS Teams I had ever saw, maybe, the best. I still think that.

Congtrats and Good Luck the rest of the way.

Bring HOME #9

;) Hey Art,

Reference to the sign the 'Cats came through that was just a cheerleader thing, no ill will or insult intended, just football fever. I watched both teams and thought they handled themselves like the class acts they both are! The only bad thing about the game was that there could only be one winner, but in my book they both are. Good Luck to the DB team in the future.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
