Quarles leaving Maryville?

We usually run atleast one "trick" play per game. Also, I don't think losing GQ will be such a big blow, I think losing the other coaches will be big blows. We lost Hammontree(sp?) and we thought things were going to be bad, infact in 2000 a big part of it was the players adjusting to Quarles being the coach because they didn't like his style. After about 4 games they bought into it and they started to love him. I also think that college won't come calling, I think they would have if he would have won this year, but I think that they might back off a bit and see how he handles things now. I think that if he leaves we will be just fine, as long as he doesn't take everyone else with him!

It says a lot about the loyalty on his staff. With a program that successful, it would be easy for those assistants to find head coaching jobs.

Streets is talking. Word from highway 92 is there's a house in patriot hills available for gq at a "discount". And in a backroom deal the county is prepared to raise the wheel tax for " education". This thing is going away. Latest timeline is the DC gets a new baseball job next spring. GQ stays through the following fall then heads home. Which would be within the "2 year window" that was mentioned earlier. The Jefferson/hamblen rumor mill is running again

One of the reasons the staff has stayed so long at Maryville for some of the coaches is that the pay is much better than most other schools. One of the other reasons you don't see people leaving is because they win and not many people lose their jobs for winning.  Also most openings for a new coaching job is usually to go to a team that is had a string of losing seasons and the risk just out runs the rewards a lot of the time on this one. Most schools would be glad to get someone from Maryville but going to a losing team and having to accept the fact that you have to take most of the coaches that were with the previous team is like adopting all the children from a very bad failed marriage and expecting the Brady Bunch.
