Here is my top 6 for the state tournament this year in 1A basketball and why no certain order.

#1-Tennessee Temple-one of the best defensive teams in tennessee defense wins championships.

#2-Greenfield-can go pretty deep with there bench and brandon shane and there other 4 starters has the experience to repeat once again.

#3-Pickett County-ever since the coaching change this year things are looking bright for pickett countys chances of making another run at the state tournament.

#4-Unaka-dont let there record fool you they are playing one of the toughest schedules in this state of tennessee for any 1A team and with having chambers leading the rangers once again this might be the rangers best shot at bringing home the gold.

#5-Cosby-even though they lost point guard mark magaha last year they still return one of the sharpest shooters in this state kent black to go along with one of the best coaches in tennesse brad flatford you can count on cosby being in the state tournament once again.

#6-RBS-yes if you go in and beat pickett county then you have done something good pickett county is a tough 1A team and RBS just this week went through them something special is on the horizon at red boiling springs highschool.

HONERABLE MENTION. Hancock,CCS,Forrest,Harriman,Rockwood.

District 9 is always one of the toughest districts in the state. Goodpasture looks very strong with 6'11" Ryan Daniels, as well as Donelson Christian (DCA) and Franklin Road Academy. DCA is undefeated and beat Davidson Academy today despite not having Jason Herndon (who was out sick). Look for one of the District Nine teams to be playing in the state championship.

Maybe its because you have alot of "Private" schools/academies in this district that makes it so tough. One thing i haven't figured out is if Goodpasture and DCA are AA in football, shouldn't they atleast be AA in basketball? Something really wrong with our high school systems here. :D

yall have neglected to mention west carroll lead by xavier webb and john taylor, plus there new head coach could go pretty deep into the tournaments.

no because there are only three divisions in basketball, not 5 plus the private school divisions
