I am sure that many of you are familiar with Leonard Scott formerly of UT.

4.26 40 and 10.05 100m which is world class speed. He is currently training for the 100m olympic trials. I wonder why if Xavier Carter runs 4.25 he isn't doing that either.

Also I would have to disagree with Walker of WB. he's probly in the 4.6 range

only runs 11.0-11.1 in the 100 i ran 4.56 and 10.79. Ranier 10.7 was fast but Jamel Sankey 10.6?who was at alcoa a few years ago was faster.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I doubt there's been a 4.5 guy at Halls in the history of the school. I've heard that coach shepherd electronically times his 40's. If you played your senior year, what did the electronic timer say? :)

Is it that hard to belive that a track star can run under a 4.4? Xavier Carter is one of the rare individuals that come along once in a while that can fly on and off the field.

fromthetop2, from the beginning I have said that the 40 is not "THAT" important, there are plenty of guys who run a great 40 time but can`t get away from a CB,and then there are guys who don`t have great 40's but know how to get open (Jerry Rice). It has to transfer onto the football field,by the time that player gets into pads and cleets that 40 time has gone down anyway.

I completely agree with the guys saying that 4.3 is simply not in the cards in High School...coaches like to make their guys look good, I konw, I am a coach. I also played ball in college and was looked at by pro scouts and timed by pro scouts. I ran a 4.6 but when the scouts came, the best I could do was 4.75...huh, go figure. (sarcasm) All this talk about 4.3 high school guys is simple just that...talk.

The fastest times at Lake Co. right now are Justin Clay with a 4.54 and Charles Mays running a 4.59 on the clock. To me that is extremely fgast. I played DB in college and the fastest time I ever recorded was a 4.65 in the forty. The fasted DB on our team he played in the NFL for a while was 4.4 guy. In high school you are not going to see many sub 4.5's that is just the truth. A couple of year's ago Donte Stallworth from UT ran the fastest forty time of any NFL incoming player an electrically time, on turf in shorts 4.3. THat is after 2 years at UT strength training and speed training. High school kids just aren't going to reach that level at 14-18 years of age unless they are a rare physical specimen or incredible athlete that comes around every now and then.

anything with a 4 in front makes you a fast high school player anyhting under 4.5 is extremely rare. check out the pro combines when all those 4.4 electronically times turn into 4.6 and all those 4.6 times turn into 4.8 and you begin to get the picture.

I can take a stop watch and make a 4.7 guiy a 4.5 with little effort so a lot of these players are told they run this or that but in reality???

The most important speed is game speed with equipment on.

Next time you hear about a 4.2 anything just grin and wish them luck at the next olympics!!

footballperson, really? Which play was that? For some reason I don`t remember seeing that, where was James when Scooter took it 41yds to the house?Where was he in the 4th when Scoot sealed the game with another TD?Could it be that Scooter didn`t catch him because he started from behind and was over to the side with a WR? Put Scoot right behind him about 5-10 yds and see what happens.By the way who won that game?
