Farragut will be tough for all eternity, but on the other hand some other AAA teams that will be tough are Halls definately, Im sure teams like Murf. Oakland and Riverdale will be also. Dobyns Bennett will be tough, they are losing 2 seniors this year after makin it to the sectional game vs. halls and losing in extra innings, and now halls is in the state championship game. Alot of teams are losing excellent seniors all over the state, so it will be interesting to see what underclassmen pickup the slack for teams next year.

farragut will be going for their 8th region title next year...

what sophomores and freshman do you think from this year will make an impact next year. I know that there were 2 sophomore pitchers on varsity (besides catapano)that pitched well, i think cheek and joseph it was, in their few appearances and another that didn't get in to pitch for varsity but could throw pretty well also, duke i think was his name

Goodpasture loses 4 senior position players (1B, SS, 3B & RF) and first 3 pitchers from the rotation, however they will come back strong. GP doesn't rebuild -- they reload.

GP has an excellent crop of underclassmen that saw some playing time in '04. Reloading the infield and outfield shouldn't prove too difficult. The positions will go to the players that work the hardest during summer ball and continue to work hard on their game throughout the off-season. As usual, the positions will go to the reliable gloves that demonstrate they can hit the ball.

GP's pitching will be quite good in '05. They had so many pitchers this year (9) that they really couldn't use them all. Chris Lowe (RHP), Austin Tice (LHP) and Logan Darnell (LHP) will be the top three in next season's rotation. As a matter of fact, they could have been the top three for just about any team this past season. There's another 3 or 4 underclassmen with pitching experience that could be very effective in '05.

The bats? Yes, GP has lost some bats, but they've got some very good bats coming up. This will be the biggest factor. If these guys work hard in the summer and off season, GP could make another run to Memphis in '05.

Go Cougars!

I have to second BNA's post, Goodpasture will have a very good team next year.

Coach Estep did what he could to get the underclassmen pitching and playing time.

As BNA said if these boys use this summer to build on this past seasons performance they will be a very good team.
