A big in county(Hawkins) rivalry is the Cherokee Chiefs vs. the Volunteer Falcons. This game is played every year and is dubbed the Hawkins County Superbowl. About 10,000 fans show up for the game. So far the the chiefs own the rivalry by winning the showdown 20 times to the falcons 6 times. This is including the 46 to 20 win the chiefs recorded last night against the falcons.

I am from Morristown and I effin' hate anyone who has played for Jefferson County. One would be hard pressed to find a larger collection of halfwits and inbred sonsabuzzards this side of Arkansas.

That county's only redeeming quality is the excellent Japanese takeout that can be had for a reasonable fee at Narita Express. I hope Mossy Creek floods and everything else within county limits is washed to Reelfoot Lake.

Try the Hibachi Steak with mushrooms, it's excellent.

The Mt Juliet - Lebanon rivalry use to be really big. It still carries a lot of weight to this date but not like it used to. The Wilson Central - Lebanon rivalry has really

taken a turn. Wilson Central during it's first year picked up kids from both Lebanon

and Mt Juliet.

Over the last few years, the kids that remained in Lebanon have really rode the

kids that moved from Lebanon to Wilson Central on the new zoning rules and that

has created a lot of tension. It has formed one heck of a dislike between the two

schools. No matter what kind of year the schools are having sports wise, rest

assured that you will get the best from both teams when they play each other.

Another rivalry that really got a good start this year is the Riverdale vs Wilson

Central. I guess that kind of thing can happen when your chasing the Champs.

Riverdale is an extremely talented and well coached team. WC had a shot at

beating them this year and they felt it. Riverdale came away with the win for

sure. Wilson Central knows that they are equally as talented and they have what

it takes to hang with Riverdale. Considering the whipping they gave us last year,

I would say that the outcome from this years game even with the loss gave the

Wildcats the edge they needed to get the job done if they get by Cookville this

Friday. GO WILDCATS !!!!!
