whenpridestillmattered
Middle for football, it seems like the East teams never do well in the 3rd and 4th rounds of the playoffs.... but ill say if it were asking about basketball.... west is pretty tough.... especially shelby co area (Memphis)

TedLNancy
I am from east TN and let me tell you about some good BBQ!!!!! Ott's BBQ in Farragut is awesome and has to be one of the best places to get BBQ anywhere. It is even better before a UT football game but I belive it closed down because the owner died so im sad. 825332665 You want BBQ? Then try Jack's Creek in Chester County. They have "whole hog" BBQ with a vinegar based sauce. If you get there early, you can get white meat out of the ham. A BBQ sandwich loaded with sauce and slaw, a moon pie and an RC. That's a true West Tennessee gourmet meal. "It just don't get no better than this." The cook needs to be wearing dirty overall's and have a stream of tobacco juice running down the 3-4 days growth of whiskers on his face. If the cook doesn't match this description, then you're just eating pork, not true BBQ.
SergeantOwl22
Q. Who has the most State Championships? A. 1. (P) MBA Middle, TN 10 2. Oak Ridge East, TN 9 2. (P) Brentwood Academy Middle, TN 9 3. (P) Battle Ground Academy Middle, TN 8 4. Bobyns Bennett East, TN 7 4. Chattanooga Central East, TN 7 4. Maryville East, TN 7 5. Alcoa East, TN 5 5. Trousdale County Middle, TN 5 This is just the facts of the top 5 schools. East TN State Championships 35 State Titles Middle TN State Championships 32 State Titles West TN State Championships 0 Three of the Middle, TN High Schools are private and recruit locally and nationally so in my opinion East Tennessee football would be the best. Nationally? Too funny. I can just see it now...families from Oregon and Iowa and Maine and places in between packing up the Family Truckster to play football at a Nashville-area private school. High comedy.
Solomon
You guys just think you have had BBQ...LOL...IF it aint from Memphis..you only think your eating PIG..... Football in West Tn isn't bad...Go to a Milan-Huntingdon game in historic Paul Ward Stadium and see for yourself.....But i'm sure there is great football played all over the state.... By the way, did Vandy move down to 5A ball yet??.....LOL 825334170 Nah, West TN all around is the best. I was just pointing out where you could get BBQ worth enough to be considered. So you’re telling me that out of 300 they can beat anyone without recruiting. My brother graduated from McCallie (recruited) and so was I (Baylor) this is the reason why private schools are sepreat from public. McCallie has a student this year 6'5" 250 4.7 40 from Africa. I better change it from Nationally to international you moron.

I'd hate to get too smart soaking in all of the wisdom floating around here. I must go now. A certain private school has sent me tapes on kids from South Korea and Uzbekistan, as well as a few from New Hampshire and Wisconsin here in the States. REBELRON
Maryville is a really good team, not great accross the board talent wise (boy I can't wait for the replies to that comment!), but they are so well coached in the fundamentals that they are able to make up for any lacking in talent. Yes, Central had more raw talent that you did on the field last year, and anyone of you that knows football will not argue with me. There are a lot of other factors that go into it as well, such as discipline, but the better coaching is the big difference. 825332699 I agree 100% with your post. Maryville has good players. They don't produce D1 players like Melrose does. Maryville put out a bunch of guys who are D2 or D3 players. Coaching is the main reason they win a lot of games. youthfootballfan0123
2-A East TN Alcoa 3-A East TN and its not even close in this classification...Austin East & Fulton ( whoever wins that games has played in the championship and won 2 of 3 each of the last three seasons and this year will be the 4th year ) 4-A East TN - Maryville speaks for itself 5-A Middle TN with East very very close ( Oak Ridge & DB )
