wow, randy---not a bad prognosticator

motown seemed to have the game in hand (how quickly that can change!) near the end of the half as they were driving in for another score to make it 21-0--

cleveland picked off a pass in the end zone and ran it all the way back for a score--a swing of 14 points in less than 30 seconds and the score is 14-7--

cleveland kept the momentum at the start of the second half and added a td and a field goal--17-14 cleveland--

morristown scored with less than two minutes to go to make it 21-17 motown--

cleveland almost runs the kickoff back all the way (even with a squib kick, no less) but was unable to score--

morristown continues to improve with their defense and their passing game is coming around (excluding the one interception)--

the running game is good at times with some good line surges but is inconsistent--should continue to improve--

the kicking game is not up to par but should get there--

kudos to cleveland for coming back from what looked to be the start of a sound beating--

way to go morristown for not quitting and proving to yourselves that you can do it!

Morristown West defense played with more focus holding Cleveland to 1 offensive TD, which was helped by back to back personal fouls from MW moving the Blue Raiders inside the 10. This was a boost for the defense since, or at least a lot of people say, we have no experience returning from last year. The offense played well, but probably not to their full potential. Cleveland offense is VERY quick with decent size up front. Their defense is aggressive and strong in the middle. Their kicking game will improve as the year progresses. Thanks to the Cleveland team and supporters for making the long journey to MTown (2hrs +) on a Thursday night and good luck for the rest of the year.

Hey randy3116, are you psychic, or just know your football, or did you just get lucky? Anyway congrats to the Trojans.

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, Big Daddy.

Except for the 1st quarter and last drive of the game, the Trojan offense seemed flat. Can't afford to let that continue especially against Jefferson and Maryville. It was good to see that they're trying to open the passing game up, though. And kudos to the defense. They really played their hearts out last night.

A hard-fought game all the way around. Good luck to the Blue Raiders for the rest of the season.

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
