first half was very exciting to watch, wish cpa could have put it in before halftime though to make it 34-28, but they didnt, its good to see riverdale not demolish them though, they didnt seem very pumped up for the game, cpa was and played very hard. this game could have easliy been decided by just one touchdown though

The fact is Riverdale kinda took it easy on them. Still all in all they played well and tried hard. I agree, CPA will be the 1A champ this year if they stay healthy.

Yeah, right....took it easy on them. Sounds like CPA was giving RHS a little more than they bargained for. Those were first string players that CPA was scoring points on not 12th stringers. face facts....either RHS was looking ahead to Smyrna, CPA is a top-notch team headed for the state, or RHS is over-rated. And very possibly all three!!

Riverdale only put there second team offense for the last possesion. There Defense was in till the last play. The entire starting defense played the whole game. CPA's two fumbles inside the twenty on offense resulted in Touchdowns the next play for riverdale. Other wise it was a six point game. Pretty amazing to see CPA leading 14-13 at one point in the first half as well.

So...when did the Warriors pull the first team in order to take it easy?

Dave Thomas was in the last snap. One series another Thomas came in and that was it. First string defense was in the whole game. The younger fans at the game that walked through the CPA stands before the game trash talking, and even at half time really showed a lot of class for Riverdale. Also the kids that were taunting Jeff Fisher after the game really shines well on Riverdale. It is funny that every post was that either CPA wouldn't score or maybe score 7, but they hung 28 on the vaunted defense. Riverdale is a very good team, Dave Thomas is a great scrambler and the running back that had over 200 is extremely fast. Give CPA some credit instead of saying Riverdale wasn't ready to play.

I certainly give CPA a lot of credit for hanging tough with a first rate team like Riverdale. Must have been an exciting game to watch.

I hate to say that if Riverdale didn't have the depth that they do they would have lost. I would even go as far as saying that the all-mighty coach rankin got out coached. Riverdale was not ready to play and would have lost to a descent 5A team if they played like they did tonight. CPA is my favorite to win 1A. Good coaching, Good QB/Reciever duo, Good RB, and Great Fan support = State Championship.

Whatever happened to Riverdale shutting out all of their opponents? Or I mean at least 8 out of 10? Did they expect CPA to score on them? We need some clarification out of the Riverdale defense if they expect to be one of the toughest in the nation.....
