WaggleRT
Everyone except those in Roane Co. think that Coalfield will beat Harriman. To give credit where it is do, Coalfield has an excellent ball team. They have beat Harriman in the past. They probably will beat them tonight, but I wouldn't want to play Harriman right now. They have played 2 3A schools and give them all they wanted. Sequoyah is a pretty good team. Harriman made Kingston look downright awful. Harriman is riding high on emotion. They got nothing to lose. People expect them to lose, or atleast for a few more games. They shut Wartburg out... which is something the Devils haven't done to any team in a long time. I look forward to a good game between these two teams. I think Coalfield has the edge, especially after injuries to Harriman players, but I see Harriman hanging in tough and possibly pulling out the win. kingbrian3
All the garbage and trash talk aside, I know Coalfield coaches and players respect Harriman and know that it is going to be a great game. I expect to see some big plays on both sides of the balls by each team. Coalfield should be pumped playing their first home game of the season, while Travis Tapp has his Blue Devils jacked up and off to a great start. I believe Coalfield has a decisive edge in the kicking game and that is why I say the Jackets win 28-14.

BrODoGG66
Welp... Coalfield, 34... Harriman, 7. It was pretty much a rout. Coalfield could have executed a little better but they got the job done. The defense is what won this game for Coalfield holding Harriman to 2 first downs the whole game. Coalfield is doing exactly what they need to do to be an awesome team. Take the games one at a time and don't overlook any opponents. I will say this about the Blue Devils... they were by far a better team than they were last year and they actually have a legit shot at playoffs in 2A cuz I think they can beat O.S. because Midway beat those boys tonight and they're walking wounded like Harriman is. xxxsessive
Congrats to Coalfield on the win, they played a pretty good ball game. Harriman really looked tired, emotionally and physically. The QB couldn't throw, receivers couldn't catch, and the running backs couldn't find the hole to run through if they were about to fall in it. Too many missed tackles, busted coverages and penalties they must have had 10 flags in first half most of them were very beneficial to coalfield in the early going; negating good plays for the devils and marching the ball downfield for the Jackets. What was up with the all the flags on punts Harriman had to punt over and over until they got a result that was beneficial to Coalfield. Coalfield has a good team and will do well until the playoffs. One other thing in closing about speed, there was nobody on that field that runs 4.4 in the 40 I don't care what anyone says.
Ro8432
I didn't see the score being as different as I was but Coalfield is a god team and apparently did what they had to win. Anybody got any stats? I didn't see anything in the paper this morning.
kingbrian3
Unofficially Harriman only had 2 first downs, around 60-70 yards passing, less than 20 yards rushing, while Coalfield's Johnny Hill threw for 169 yards and 2 TD's with Steven Hensley (6-149, 2 TD0 the top target. Michael Paul Gilbert had 88 yards on 15 carries, while Brandon Davis added about 45 yards and 2 TD's on the ground. Coalfield won this game with superior special teams play and good, solid line play. Also, Harriman couldn't defend all three of the Jacket speedsters (Gilbert, Hensley and Davis). The Blue Devils are a much improved team, but so is Coalfield.
