My New Midstate Top Ten

1. Riverdale 3-0

2. MBA 3-1

3. Brentwood Academy 2-1

4. Antioch 3-0

5. Centennial 3-1

6. Smyrna 3-1

7. Gallatin 3-1

8. Greenbrier 3-0

9. Franklin 4-0

10. Brentwood 3-0

All teams won handily except for Smyrna and Gallatin who played each other and Smyrna won by five points.

As for the Centennial-Brentwood game, I'll take the Bruins by 8. :D

I'm not getting into this debate, mind you... but let me just say that Brentwood's blowout against Blackman is not quite as impressive as some might think... Blackman is one-dimensional and is lacking in any kind of passing game... if you stop the running game, you stop the Blaze... the Bruins' four interceptions were legit, but most of the balls were underthrown... basically jump balls that the Brentwood defenders came down with... Blackman completed one pass for the game... definitely not the sternest of tests for the Bruins' D... Brentwood is a good team, but next week will be their biggest challenge of the season...

Oh, and Brentwood is a carbon copy of Ravenwood offensively, largely because of Jack, I'd say... I think it will be interesting when those two get together...

Just food for thought...

first thing first these boards are always biased... Centennial should win, the reason i say this is centennial has found a passing game Taylor Scott only has had 1 incompletion last 2 games, CHS has better players in most phases of the game... brentwood has much better coaching on gamedays so the game should be a good one, if centennial can shut down the bruins pass they will win, if brentwood completley shuts down the run of chs then bhs will win. turnovers will play a large roll but essentially its on the defenses to win this game.

That sounds an awful lot like Centennial's offense, yea no one has stopped them yet, but the bruin D is up for the challenge. Its not our fault our d shut blackman down and we got some picks. You put it up, who cares if they were jumpballs we still got them.

For two years I have wanted Centennial to beat Brentwood, and frankly they should have. This year Brentwood is the underdog and yet I still feel like they have the edge because of coaching. Curtis Steele is impressive despite not having a very good Offensive Line. I believe the coaching of Brentwood will shut him down. Sportsguy1976 may know what his rushing numbers were each of the last two years against Brentwood. I'd be curious to know.

Second to coaching, as a reason for Bwood winning, is conditioning. I think Centennial has always been a terrible 4th quarter team. I'd love to see that stat as well for points for/against in the 4th Q for centennial over the past three years!

    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe….i drove the lawnmower down to practice today…….hmmmm…… we got some new faces………. One can run faster than my lawnmower in fifth gear…… a few will be disappointed come November that they jumped ship and went down to that sewage facility……. You can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • I don't know what's going on in the town of McMinnville, but I've read this and it's disturbing.  I'm a "player" person, and I want what's best for the player. If a player gets cut off the team because she said the "F word" then good grief. I mean, come on guys. I wish there was a way for the player to transfer to a different program and just play ball. There are a lot of athletes that are stuck because they're in crappy situations regarding their team/coach. This is player just happens to be one them.
    • Won't happen. College coaches will back the coach every time and it cost this young lady her senior season. Looks like the player may be right on this one. School let her  go after one season. This stuff happens more than you think.
    • “No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team.” For language? I’m not seeing that as a dealbreaker.
    • Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.
