1. Maryville (5-0): The Rebels can win the "Blount County Championship" with a victory against William Blount tonight. They already have victories against Alcoa and Heritage.

2. Oak Ridge (3-1): The Wildcats bounced back from their loss to Dobyns-Bennett two weeks ago. Another old rival, Sevier County, visits Blankenship Field tonight.

3. Austin-East (4-0): The banged-up Roadrunners just want a chance to get healthy. A 21-0 win against Loudon was a confidence boost considering the absence of running back Albert Harris.

4. Central (4-1): The Bobcats are gearing up for another major showdown in Region 3- 4A with Maryville in a few weeks.

5. Catholic (4-0): The Irish continue to climb the ranks. Catholic players believe they are among the Division II-2A elite and they’ve proved it on the field. Chuckey-Doak is in Knoxville tonight.

6. Farragut (5-0): The Admirals wanted to reach their open week unbeaten and they made it. The brutal part of their schedule is yet to come.

7. Alcoa (4-1): The Tornadoes and Rockwood are on a collision course for supremacy in Region 2-2A. Alcoa dominated Sweetwater in the rain last week. It’s time for Heritage tonight.

8. Lenoir City (4-0): How about those Panthers? Second-year head coach Nick White has a ton of seniors, a talented running back and Lenoir City proved it’s for real with a victory at Fulton. Pigeon Forge visits tonight.

9. West (4-1): The Rebels have the kind of offensive punch that is going to give a lot of teams trouble. We’ll see what they can do with Karns tonight.

10. Coalfield (5-0) This team has finally jelled into a real threat watch for coalfield to make it deep into the playoffs.

So in what part of the state of Tennessee do Dobyns-Bennett, Jefferson County, McMinn County, Ooltewah, Soddy Daisy, Tn. High, now reside? It's hard to be more Eastern than Kingsport and Bristol...and I think the point that Oak Ridge has bounced back from a loss to Dobyns-Bennett might should give the Indians cause for mention...oh well

Thought this is supposed to be the Top Ten In East Tennessee? Catholic? Coalfield? West? What's your definition of East Tennessee? Where's Dobyns-Bennett, Jefferson County, Tennessee High? Soddy-Daisy? Ooltewah? All five of these teams could easily wipe the field with your 3 thru 10 picks? Also I liked to see Maryville play the big boys in 5A. Dobyns-Bennett and Oak Ridge would bring all these Maryville fans back to reality fast! I respected the feats of Maryville when Ted Wilson was head coach and Tennessee Prep Football was only separated into three divisions instead of this stupid 8 division farce where we have all these state champions who would have been hard pressed to win the conference or even get a playoff birth under the old system!

I only see 2 5a schools in this top ten. What is your deal have you not gotten out of your bmw to check what is going on in The Big East conference and the conference which tennessee high belongs too? I mean seriously West? Coalfield? Lenior City? DB rolled all over Oak Ridge 3 weeks ago and you have Oak Ridge as the number 2 team? When you finally drive your bmw out of the knoxville area lights and realize that there are more teams in east tn then you can post a top 10.

Oh by the way your number 8 team lost to PF friday night so that should knock them out of your "East TN Top Ten". Maybe this week you should revise the top ten. My top ten would be:

1. Kingsport D-B

2. Oak Ridge

3. Maryville

4. Knox Central

5. TN High

6. Jeff. Co.

7. Alcoa

8. Catholic

9. Austin East

10. Farragut

What's everyone's opinion?
