Lighthouse beats CPA

Lighthouse Christian beat CPA on CPA's floor 60-54 tonight.

Bottom line - both teams played hard and well and game was won and lost at the line. Lighthouse scored no baskets the last 3 minutes but made about 8 of 9 free throws.

CPA's star, Travis Sikes, missed 5 free throws in a row in the last 2 minutes, 2 of them the front end of 1-1; so that's 7 missed points and CPA loses by 6.

 

Lighthouse is a very good team with a 6'7 big man, who had over 20 points, all on layups and tap ins. He never took one shot away from the basket, but is a good rebounder, hustles and plays good D. They are very quick and should win almost all their games.

 

CPA was missing a starter, Hobgood, who separated a shoulder at the end of the football season. He will be back in a couple of weeks.

 

A good game, 2 good teams. CPA has 8 seniors, so if they don't win this year, the next few with a move up a division will be rebuilding.

Too bad Lighthouse dropped out of the TSSAA. Nobody will see them play against real competition.

The Lighthouse in Div. 2 you are thinking of is is in West Tn. This Lighthouse Christian is in Nashville (Antioch) They dropped out of the TSSAA before last year. They where in the same district as Ezel, DCA, FRA, etc. They are a small school in a private school league. Most schools in that league could not compete with TSSAA members. But looks like Lighthouse can. I was very shocked to see this score.

Ferrell was on fire the first half. This will be a BIG year for him. Lighthouse has a good team this year. This is nothing like the Lighthouse of a few years ago.

Lighthouse is an extremely talented team and a very athletic team. They are going to turn some heads this year. If I am not mistaken, I think they are playing in the McGavock and Temple tourneys this year... they also play CPA again...
