Does anybody have an estimated number of people at the game last night? and or Oak Ridge fans?

Most guessed 6,000 or so. About 2,000 or so Oak Ridge fans? Maybe more????

It appeared that both sides of the stadium were full and a lot of folks standing around on the hill and around the fence.... Great atmosphere for high school football

hey do any of you oak ridge fans know where oak ridge got their fight song, what college they are emulationg,  etc...

The Oak Ridge High School fight song was written exclusively for Oak Ridge High School. We are very proud of the song. It was probably written in the 1950s or 1960s but that is just a guess.

A link to the fight song is on the webpage for the ORHS Classes of 1957, 1958, and 1959 Reunion page:

http://members.tripod.com/~orhs/

Here are the words to the song:

WILDCAT FIGHT SONG

Roll, Wildcats, Roll

The fight is on, let's take it across the goal.

Let's Roll, Wildcats, Roll

Your loyal sons are with you a hundred fold.

RAH! RAH! RAH!

Fight 'till the gun

We'll cheer each play until the game is won...

Let's show 'em that we're tough

Make 'em holler that's enough

Let's Roll, Wildcats, Roll.

I hope this information helps.

Riverdale, Williewildcat answered as best as I could on the fight song. It was not meant to emmulate any college song but be exclusively for OR. We were singing it in the 60's so it was written before that time.

At home games there is "train" whistle used for scores and stuff. A railroad crossing light goes on and off at the top of the stairs when the team comes passed the crossing and down the hill to the field. The train part is a recent addition.

It was good to see you folks with your own field and a decentlyl sized visitor section. Those one-sided stadiums are not nearly so much fun for visitors. And, you folks have enough visitor seating for most games...might have been over crowded on both sides Friday night! One of the "more affulent" Knoxville schools for years had the most pitiful visitors sections with porta potties. They now have bathrooms but the seating is still less than desired. Sure, you do what you can afford or push to get.

OR will always bring a good crowd to away games. When we play DB at home, the crowd is always very good...more than can be said for some schools much closer to OR. Riverdale brings a good crowd. Those crowds say a lot about the programs. Dart.

YOu ever see Dickson County's field. The bleachers are 100 yards long on one side and almost that long on the visitors, if I remember correctly. YEp, I agree we could have used more room on your side Friday night, but that is the first time it has been full all year. Great crowd by OR.

I thought that the train whistle was used to make the sound of the train taking Oak Ridge away from the Boro for the last time this year.
