Well, cherrygurl, I hope you get that pendant!  As a diehard OR Wildcats fan, I want the Warriors to win this game.  I respect the coach and the program you have going there.  Not to say we didn't want to be there instead of your team..we wanted it all.  Maybe next year if your team and mine meet again, OR will beat the state champs.

Sure, I want the Warriors to win because we have played them and can relate to them.  This gives me a better look at US!  I believe you will pull it off and you will get that pendant, whatever it is!

God Bless and Peace.      Dart.

I have to say when we played y'all last year i knew you were a good team. but last week i have a new prediction. That next year you will be a top contendor for the golden ball and should have atleast one Mr. football nomination,

Well, it's prediction time.

I'm convinced that both defenses are for real...they are both very, very good. This is for all the marbles so neither team will be saving anything for next week and both teams will be playing at the highest level possible. My breakdown:

Offense -- advantage Riverdale

Defense -- advantage Riverdale

Special teams -- advantage Franklin

Franklin is a little bigger than Riverdale but the Warriors are used to that. Franklin can present some problems with the halfback passes, end-around plays, and some of the other things that they do. Those unorthodox plays are also more risky than the more conventional approach. I don't think that Franklin can afford any mistakes in this game so they must execute any high risk plays to perfection.

Oak Ridge came out with a wide open game plan, executed well, and had the Warriors on the ropes for a time. I'm not convinced that Franklin has enough firepower to take the route that Oak Ridge took. So...

Expect a traditional field position approach from Franklin (actually both coaches will take this approach). The teams will rely heavily on their defenses. Riverdale can do more offensively, and will probably have a couple new wrinkles in place for this game.

Riverdale benefitted from seeing Oak Ridge's very good defense. I expect our guys to be a half-step quicker this week.

My guess is that both teams will play their best game of the year.

After some heavy research, serious number crunching, indepth evaluation, and three glasses of homemade wine, I have concluded the following:

Franklin will score from 6-12 points.

Riverdale will score from 14-28 points.

Closest score should be 14-12 Riverdale, widest margin should be 28-6 Riverdale.

My Pick: Riverdale 21, Franklin 9

Some selected quote from the Williamson AM this morning:

''It's going to be a tremendous challenge,'' Franklin offensive coordinator Danny Nowell said. ''You never know what's going to happen on one night for 48 minutes. If you've got a bunch of kids with some talent who battle as hard as they can battle, you've got a chance to win.

''That's the way we're looking at it.''

''We watched two films on them, and both seemed like highlight reels,'' Hotard said. ''I knew at the beginning of the season it would be Riverdale and somebody here. I'm sure we'll be underdogs, but that's fine with us.''

''We will have to have sustained drives,'' Franklin Coach Tim Johnson said. ''They are very athletic and well-coached and their speed is very good.''

''They have a very good, very fast defense that reacts well to the ball,'' Rankin said. ''They are big on the defensive line, especially with their defensive tackles, and their linebackers are very good.''

''We will have to block those big studs up front to run the ball effectively,'' Rankin said. ''They have done a good job all season of mixing up coverages and they are very well coached.''

''I think as long as we can coach our kids up and play Rebel football, we will be all right against them,'' Johnson said.

GO REBELS! This will be it until possibly later tonight or tomorrow morning if at all before the game. I can't wait to be with everyone from Franklin once more as we cheer on our Rebels to victory! Good luck tomorrow night, guys!

FRANKTOWN- IT'S AN ATTITUDE!
