I'll tell you what, JB from Temple has hops!!

He's truly "The Man"!!

He's definitely the "Godfather of Slam" for sure.

His 360 windmill and between the legs against Grace was phat y'all!!

It looked like his head was 12" above the rim -- looking down into the basket as he slammed it home over Parshall. It was the sickest jam ever. His jumping skills are unmatched.

Nuff said!!

What's wrong -- you don't believe the stories about JB?

This Temple phenom is a quick and exciting transition athlete with great hangtime. He's good at attacking the rim and rising above everyone. He takes the ball to the rack hard and dares defenders to try to stop him. Usually, they get embarrassed if they try.

His patented screams, pumping fists and looks of rage scare most defenders into simply getting out of the way right before he brings the thunder.

He has excellent hang-time and a great smoothness to his glides to the rim. His dunks and hang time remind us oldtime ballers of Dr. J on the next level. Whether that next level is college or the NBA -- that remains to be seen.

I know for a fact that there is a picture of the smith dunk out there because my buddy taped the game form the second deck on the BA side and you can see the flash bulb go off from the area were the media was stading on court. I want a copy of the picture for sure because I am going to get smith to sign it when he comes to town next week.

I have to say that Mr. Baxter (known as JB) from Temple is one of the most quintessential dunkers in the country. For all those who aren't familiar with that word it means "the perfect example of class or quality".

I agree with my friend, Mr. LeeRoy, on the best dunk of the year (refer to post #10 for the details -- because my precious time does not allow me to repeat what has already been said about this incident).

I give him a perfect 10 for his gracefulness, creativeness, hang time and power of dunking a ball through the hoop. I look forward to seeing you do your thing against Grace on Tuesday night.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
