For those of you that were there... I know people sometimes get fired up over this topic sometimes. But did anyone have a problem with state being at Clarksville ?

I know Clarksville High and Team State Championship have almost been synonomous over the last few years. But did anyone see any problems this wkend. Let's hear the pro's and con's. Anything from atmosphere to officiating quality. Let's here it all....

What did YOU think about it ?

This weekend is the first time I have attended a State Dual Meet Tournament since 1995. It was an outstanding treat and worth much more than the price of admission. I liked the atmosphere and never had a problem with finding a seat. The only problem I saw was the lack of courtsey by one Chattanooga team. No one minds folks moving in front of them, but when you stand totally oblivious to the fact that you are blocking the view then that is a whole different situation.

The Clarksville folks did an outstanding job!

Officiating quality was at it's best this past weekend !!!!! There was one Ref from outside Nashville area that was terrible !!! In the Soddy/Collierville match, the Ref was calling Stalling in REDICULUS situations!!! I know stalling is "judgement" but heck, he was calling stalling so fast the kid didn't know what hit him. Soddy coach was fuming !!!! TSSAA Excuctive officials were watching as well.

Agreed. There was also a horrible call in the Franklin,Bradley Central match. Bradley's 119 clearly had two. The official didn't give him two. I also thought it was funny because the Franklin crowd looked frustrated after the Bradley guy spun around and "got two". Then after there was no call the Franklin crowd went wild. Just interesting that the obvious call wasn't there, and it was a veteran ref.

:D SAD, but everyone makes mistakes.

Oh well.

I agree with the bad stalling calls that went both ways however, the worst call of the night had to be in the last match when the Collierville kid had his Soddy opponent pinned at the edge of the mat and the ref called them out. That pin would have reversed the final outcome. Even the Bradley fans around us agreed he missed the call.

After reading a thread a few days ago concerning seating in Clarksville, I paid attention to this and didn't see this as a problem. There were several questionable calls, but I'm no ref, so as stated earlier, they make mistakes. No team championship, should come down to 1 call. If it does, there probably are other situations that put you in that position.

Interesting banter between the Franklin/Clarksville fans vs. Bradley. The kids holding signs up on the Franklin side were obnoxious and made seeing the matches difficult at times. All said, it was an enjoyable weekend as a spectator.

Great job Clarksville; you guys go the extra mile to make things work smoothly. Personally, I like the 'tradition' that is now associated with the Duals being hosted by Clarksville. Yes, seating is tight at times, but the schedule moves people move in and out fairly well so that no one has been left standing outside. Artie, you are the best.

Congrats to Baylor and Franklin, two very fine teams. Wouldn't it be a great match between the two of them. Still missing the 'good ole days'.

Soms-I need to talk with you; I've misplaced your card. Call me at school or e-mail me.

True... there were a few signs on the Franklin side that were a little rough.  But it was kind of weird that most of the people holding them up were wearing purple and gold shirts.

? Don't understand ?

I was wondering about that also. I cheered for Franklin because they were the underdog and they gave me a sign. :D

I think the individuals should be held in Nashville or middle TN somewhere. I don't think it is fair for the Memphis kids to have to travel across the State. Attendance may take a slight hit, but I think it would be better for the wrestlers. I just think it would make things a little better for everybody, except those in Chattanooga.

Beggining countdown until an angry Chattanooga fan tells me i'm Crazy.

Now I understand Eagleville was missing a few guys, but they still. They. Run. Ruled. Eagleville. 1st single A team to run rule Eagleville since when? Pre 2017??
    • If that Yellow Paint is all gone I'll flat bet it didn't wash off there. I bet that took some scrubbing to remove that if it is gone. Lacrosse is one of those northern sports all these misplaced Yankee's that are posion to the community brought in by  (Blount Partnership, ( The Devil) with them so somebody allowed them to paint their markings on the field that cost more than the twenty top people on payroll at Maryville make a year. All this to please the 1% Club and the 25 people that would come to see it. All in the name of WOKE!!!!!!
