big chief, i was just wondering? why do you think players from that area quit their college teams? Is it because they were "the man" in high school but when they got to college it was different? young guys these days have BIG egos...nathan aaron had a great freshman year at freed hardeman. his other two years were just so so. do you think egos have alot to do with the reason they quit during college? whatever happened to the meaning of TEAM ? and the ole saying, "quitters never win?" nathan was alot better than bailey, wasn't he?

Nathan was and is a pure shooter...he probably had the best shot I have ever seen. But Bailey, on the other hand, is not only a great shooter, he is a great ball handler. I believe if Bailey played to his potential, he could do well at the next level, where ever that may be.

Sorry, first time I have checked the boards in a few days...

Wow... almost too much ignorance to respond to on one thread!!! :justwrestle:

First off, Joseph Bailey is a heck of a player, and a great team player in an advanced system. He is a superb shooter, one of the purest in the state, but also has very good handles, and is surprisingly athletic... He has range out to 25 feet, but also has a great pull up off the bounce for the midrange J... Joseph also has the type of frame that will be easy to put on added strength in the weightroom in college... Joe does need extra work defensively, but has come a long way within the year, but is the type of hard-worker and shooter that every team needs...

Secondly, congrats to Coach Shulman on a huge 82-59 win over a heavily favored College of Charleston squad last night. With a team that doesn't shoot it well, has very little true post presence, and lacks a true PG, Shulman has done an OUTSTANDING job this season, and has the Mocs in first place in their division...

As for Bailey vs. Nathan Aaron. Let me start by saying that I am a huge Nathan Aaron fan, as he lit our AAU team up from deep on numerous occasions... But there are two main things that sererate the two... 1) Exposure. As good as Aaron was, he lacked the exposure to be seen by Division 1 schools. He ended up at a very good Freed program, and had a great career, before running out of love for playing, and deciding to quit... 2) Quickness. As much as I loved Aaron's game, he was not very quick at all, and really struggled as the year's progressed, to be effective off the bounce. Bailey is very quick for his mold, and has proved it against 6'5 athletic guards all summer long... Both are great players from Pickett co...

Bailey's college recruitment...

#1-UT-Chattanooga... UTC has been to 3 of his game already this year, and is heavily recruiting Bailey...

-UNC Asheville (D-1 out of the Big South conference)

-Lipscomb (D-1 out of Nashville)

-Lafayette (D-1 school in the Patriot league)

-Also different levels of interest from: Austin Peay, Tenn Tech, Oakland University, and Murray State

-Offers from tons of top Division 2 schools, including Auburn University-Montgomery, UAH, Lincoln Memorial, Carson Newman, etc...

Bailey has a healthy load of recruitment that does not include small college ball or juco...

There are too many haters out there for whatever reasons, and his weekend in Chattanooga (vs Temple and Grace) is not a valid representation of his game... For those that still don't believe in his game, email me and I can get you game film of Bailey's 22 points against AL Challenge (Jarvis Hill-Auburn, Jonathon Huffman-Louisville, etc), his 16 points against Top 15 ranked AL Lasers (Yamene Coleman-Clemson, Xavier Keeling-High D-1, also Richard Hendrix's team), or his 25 point outburst at the Hoosier Shootout... Again, these numbers are while coming off the bench behind Richard Delk, Reginald Delk, and Jeff Smith...

Joseph is an outstanding player, an even better kid, and deserves all the good things that are coming his way...

Seen Bailey play twice this year most recently against Clay Co. he had I think around 32 and Seen him take it to the hole and get fouled on several occasions. To me he has the ALL around GAME can drive shoot and shoot the three with long range. The only thing I seen he need work on his free throw shooting he missed about 4 against Clay and 3 the other game I seen him play. The pure shooter he his he should be automatic from the line just my opinion. With Coach Bibb being his coach I think he will help Bailey get in the OVC maybe even TECH if he wants to go their.

    • Never in my life have I seen a team in a scrimmage against their own defense look so lost and confused. The defense didn’t look much better, the coaching staff can’t keep their anger together, not only with the players but also with their other coaches. I feel awful for those players. None of them look like they wanted or should’ve been out there, but for the grown men on the sidelines acting like fools, it's just embarrassing to the Farragut name and reputation. I now see why they chose not to live stream this on their YouTube channel.
    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
