U got some kids in the weight room working their butts off and it will show in the fall.For the ones that show up Dyer is doing a heckuva job with them.I can see an improvement in my son already.

Guys, don't stress about BBall players not working out. Those kids im sure are getting a much different workout in with the other sports. Its not like they are sitting at home stuffing their mouths with potato chips while watching TV. I was a 2 sport athlete and yes i continued to workout during basketball season (Coach P didnt like it but Coach Satt demanded it), but the workout was scaled way back because I and the others were participating in another sport. Basic lifts were about all we did and it was only 2 maybe 3 days a week max. And come postseason, all football workouts stopped. My point is, it may benefit them some to let those muscles rest for the 2 months that they have had off.

White county's schedule was way too easy to be ranked as high as they were early on. It was basically a AA schedule with some losing AAA times before they made it to district play. Count the number of wins by WC vs AAA and then subtract the teams without a winning record and you will be surprised. I am not saying they aren't good but their record didn't reflect a AAA schedule. They are a solid team but when they started playing equally talented teams they have struggled. I think that is because they were not tested most of the early season. I still think they are on the same level as Cookeville/Stone but the early record was drastically inflated.

Last night was more of a true representation of both teams. Bearden's defense was dominant. At first I didn't quite understand why Pember was guarding Anderson, but quickly realized why Coach Parrott made that decision. Pember's length was a huge factor in shutting Joe well below his average. Joe is one of the smoothest basketball players ive seen in a long time and Pember shut him down. I also found it interesting when Maryville started with a box and 1 on Quez. It worked to begin with, but that is a hard defense to play when you have four other offensive players on the court that can all score. I could see the squirmish at the end of the game building up the entire 2nd half. When Bearden got a 29 point lead, I knew tensions were rising. Anderson let Stephany get to him. I thought the refs handled that situation brillantly and made the correct call for both teams. A personal foul on Trent and then a Tech on each player. That could have gotten alot worse, but emotions cooled off and everything was ok. I thought the refs did a great job for both teams. They let the kids play and didn't call every foul. that is the way basketball is suppose to be played. In the first matchup, the Refs played a huge role in the outcome of the game. 4 total technicals called. The ref was reprimanded and isn't allowed to call another Bearden game all year. This will be a fun post season to watch. I can easily see a Bearden vs Maryville matchup in both the District and Region Finals. Will be fun to watch indeed.

Hmmmm. ..may have been on to something long time ago. I do believe when they get point back they be much better. However, all those cupcake wins early really showing up now.

I've seen McMinn play several games this year and I just don't see them being a threat like many of you are indicating. They have the talent no doubt, but their play has been inconsistent most of the season. Hennessee only missed one game that I'm aware of. Other than beating Cleveland last night, McMinn lost both games to Bradley and both games to East Hamilton and split with Cleveland. Both losses to East Hamilton were by 20+ points. In the loss to East Hamilton in Athens just a few days ago, McMinn fell behind by 20 points in the first quarter and were trailing 32-8 at halftime. McMinn struggled with lowly Ooltewah just a couple weeks ago, finally winning by 5 points. So, for every good game they've played, there's a number of games they've underperformed. Last year they finished 4th during the regular season - with the same girls playing this year as well as another young lady who's now playing at Tennessee Wesleyan - and they lost to a lower seeded team in their first district tourney game, ending their season!!! I'd love to see McMinn play up to their potential, but history tells me they won't make it past the first region game.

In addition to the above posted info, I have listed the average margin of loss during the regular season for each of the 8 seasons 2011 avg margin of loss 14 points 2012 avg margin of loss 28 points 2013 avg margin of loss 18.37 points 2014 ave margin of loss 27.2 points 2015 avg margin of loss 28.25 points 2016 avg margin of loss 20.75 points 2017 avg margin of loss 27 points 2018 avg margin of loss 29.14 points I think WB had 4 losses in 2011 of 8 points or less.

Bleacher any chance your boy takes a look at Overton since HW fell through? Overton could be a good job for someone and there are really good people there. Mike Morrison is one of the best men, teachers, and coaches around. JS is in the building and could make for a good coordinator. Just wondering if there is even a chance he would consider it. I am a proud alum and want the best for the bobcats whomever that may be. I think very highly of SW and hate that what happened to him and hopefully Johnny O can make a good hire and get things back on track. Whomever they hire the first person I would go to is MM and get as much wisdom I could from him. He is the bobcat.

Dark Knight to me the biggest issue in metro right now is race. You have a director that was quoted as saying that metro needed more teachers that looked like the students. You have people being put in positions because of nothing at all that should actually matter. You have principals being told you have to hire this race and I'm not talking about Hillwood either. It's stupid and it's crazy. Hire the best person and leave it at that. Those that believe AB is a better coach cool. Why? I believe TM is a better coach because I know people that have been around him and think very highly of him. I have seen what AB has done at MW and he has done well but I don't honestly think he has done anything that most metro coaches couldn't do. That's just my opinion and it's worth about as much as nothing. Race is not a factor to me. It's the the way I was raised. I taught for 12 years in metro and absolutely loved the kids. If not for the adults I would still be there. This right here is the biggest issue in metro.

Buck left a boys teams with Brock, Yoder, Simmons, and Matthews on it. That team went to substate. So you are way off saying he left when talent was gone. Also when he took over the girls program they had were coming off a 3 win season. So basically you're out of your league on this one.
