  1. Come on TSSAA you put all four mats in the center??? The Girl mat and the AA MATS are in front of the sections that are half sections so they hardly any seats and you have the D2 and AAA mats together so they are splitting 3 sections. Then you put the table and clock in front of the sections so that it blocks the view of the parents. Two hours before the finals and all the semi close seats are taken. We have this big arena and you crammed the mats in the center. Just horrible, just horrible. All you had to do was put the mats 1,2,3,4 in straight line down the one side of the arena with the full seats and put the table and clock in the center of the arena. Yes, this would have put all the fans on one side of the arena but there would have been a ton of room for all the parents and fans. A ton of room with close seats to the mats the fans want to watch. Just absolulty piss pour planning TSSAA!!! just Horrible!!

  3. Have y’all noticed that Maryville in their two biggest district games have gotten every whistle? It’s sad that their best player wins MVP when he is the 5th best player in the region.

  5. A tie game and a girl shooting at half court and you think it should have been called? Unless she picked her up and body slammed her I think you let it go to OT and let the players decide it. Just my opinion as a non biased fan.

  6. So CCHS suffered from the flu during the two losses from Stone and Clarkrange? Wow that's a new one. During the boys game with Clarkrange I had a good long conversation with Coach Miller, who I have known for about 17 years, and no mention of the flu. Only just looking over the stats and where they came up short and could improve. No excuses. I certainly hope Dishman and Wilson were not allowed to play having the flu. Not just because of safety issues for other players with it being spread, but for their health. Surely, an aunt/coach, parent, athletic director, etc would not want to risk the health of these kids by letting them play with the flu. Also, during the Stone game I believe it was said on Coach T that Dishman had 35 of the 55 points?? Got them while having the flu? Either the flu had no effect on her game or it did and that's why they lost? Which is it?

  7. So the fact that the official previously coached one of York's players has no relevance, but being a teacher in a "Baxter school" makes him an obvious cheater for the Bees arranged by Bobby and Dana McWilliams? Sounds totally reasonable... Given this obvious set up, it's really difficult for me to understand how the Bees' star center picked up his 4th foul and had to sit from half way through the 3rd quarter until about 4 minutes left in the game. Probably just part of the cover up, so the scheme wouldn't be so obvious. Amazing that your keen eye was able to identify this. If I were you, I would report it immediately (gmenees@tssaa.org). Since "the word has gotten around" though, I'm sure it's just a matter of time before the whole conspiracy is brought to light. **Edit** Bees 61 York Institute 57 Collin Gore 30 pts, 6 rbs, 4 ast Isaiah Allen 10 pts, 1 reb, 1 ast Alex Rush 10 pts, 12 rbs, 4 blks

  8. If I stand and hold the ball on my hip and half court and you sit back and let me, how is it that I’m the one who’s scared? Get out and guard. Team A runs a continuity type offense for 2 minutes and can do so without Team B forcing a turnover, who would you say is the better team? Either team A is better or team B isn’t playing defense. The strategy to avoid teams holding the ball on you is play defense better than the can offense. Play smothering defense and use the 5 second rule. I have come up with plenty of reasons why it would be a larger undertaking than most think. We’ve hit on some here in this thread. Who’s going to work it is one that I worry about. Finding someone to do it is a big deal for some schools let alone someone who knows what they are doing. And you don’t want to be the guy who screws it up in a tight game. Officials already want more money for games. This would be something else they have to keep up with so then there’s another cost. If they require an actual official to run the clock, there’s more money. The cost of the initial set up I don’t see as that big of deal that some make it. If the T$$AA says you have to have it to play sanctioned basketball, schools will figure it out.

  9. So you’ve gone from your argument solely being based on helping the kids who are going to play in college adjust to using a shot clock (no mention of the other 95%) to now well it’ll get everybody more possessions. So I’ll take it you’ve abandoned your original argument. The three point line did nothing to take away from a team that might not have the individual talent and athleticism. If anything it helped them by forcing those teams to come out and guard the line which opened things up for more movement on offense which I consider good basketball. A shot clock gives those teams more of an advantage than they already have because they can sit back and let the clock give them ball back A small poll of this thread has it 13 against it, 5 for it, and 1 that’s a push by my count. I’d love to see a formal poll of every high school coach (boys and girls) in the state of Tennessee. I believe the DNJ did one a few years ago of a handful of coaches in the Rutherford County area and it was split. I could careless what 399 “people” in Virginia think or what those 8 other states are doing. No doubt there are fans in that poll that know more basketball than some coaches but the people who it’s going to effect most (coaches and schools) should be the ones who get the say so.

He will be a Mr.Football nominee by his jr year. The way he played the last 3 games for an eighth grader i havent seen.Stewart from Coalfield was a good eighth grade lineman but bubba is very agressive along with being huge and plays like a Jr,Stewart was very docile. He will be the best our region has ever seen as a OL/DL.Silvey was a freakin monster on D but wasnt great on O this kid is both.IMO.

  19. Last night was more of a true representation of both teams. Bearden's defense was dominant. At first I didn't quite understand why Pember was guarding Anderson, but quickly realized why Coach Parrott made that decision. Pember's length was a huge factor in shutting Joe well below his average. Joe is one of the smoothest basketball players ive seen in a long time and Pember shut him down. I also found it interesting when Maryville started with a box and 1 on Quez. It worked to begin with, but that is a hard defense to play when you have four other offensive players on the court that can all score. I could see the squirmish at the end of the game building up the entire 2nd half. When Bearden got a 29 point lead, I knew tensions were rising. Anderson let Stephany get to him. I thought the refs handled that situation brillantly and made the correct call for both teams. A personal foul on Trent and then a Tech on each player. That could have gotten alot worse, but emotions cooled off and everything was ok. I thought the refs did a great job for both teams. They let the kids play and didn't call every foul. that is the way basketball is suppose to be played. In the first matchup, the Refs played a huge role in the outcome of the game. 4 total technicals called. The ref was reprimanded and isn't allowed to call another Bearden game all year. This will be a fun post season to watch. I can easily see a Bearden vs Maryville matchup in both the District and Region Finals. Will be fun to watch indeed.

  20. Sure Joe Anderson can be a great player and 4th-5th best player in the region. That’s not a knock on him. Maryville doesn’t just benefit from calls here or there. They have had some of the most questionable calls go in their favor.
