  1. Did any of the kids on Whitwell’s team last year go on to get a scholly to play D1 ball? I know Cornersville did not. But Greenback had them and LC and Huntingdung. I know NCS had several the year they won but what about Dresden (none although one went to UT Martin) or Union City the 2 years before that? (None). Even by your own admission South Pitt doesn’t get D1 players but they are one of the most decorated programs in TN single A ball. I agree with you that D1 players dominate at this level. But it doesn’t always translate into championships. Give me a team full of hard nosed players that arewell coached and play with a lot of grit any day over A couple of D1 players.

  2. Was very impressed with what I seen, beating Riverdale by 4, GC by 21 at the glass house, just a name a couple. Beat several big AAA teams, playing 9 players, gonna be a very interesting season..

  4. Possibly. Really think he’s just wanting attention. He also asked for a schedule which isn’t too hard to fine. Did you see who replied and gave it to him?

  6. My 'AXE' as you call it is all the kids and Assistant Coaches he has totally screwed over the years. How long will I keep that opinion? As long as I am still breathing. Y'all are happy with him, FINE and Good. I just want folks to know NONE of us that walk the earth are saints or football Gods. BTW does he allow college football scouts to come to practice now? Hard to get a ride if you aren't seen.

  7. And by the way, I heard the quarterbacks played well in the 7 on 7 games. I was told the Damron kid had by far the best days though, and that he was just on a different level than the others. Said the defense struggled at times, but mainly because they were running their base stuff to get some good work in, and not just trying to win “a meaningless game without pads”. Odoms was a beast and several others made great plays also. That’s all coming from someone who was there watching, so take it for what it’s worth.

  9. Are you talking about the post on the QB Club page where the guy was asking? If so I’m pretty sure that guy is just really far out of the loop.

  11. Nah two different games TC just had their best player come back after being suspended for 7 or 8 games and one best lineman that just returned after missing 5 games. Baines didn't cone of the field he was starting QB, CB, K, and P he ran out of gas. TC had a chance to win the game on a field goal but Baines was out of shape and couldn't get the field goal.

  12. Man it is easy to see who the umpires are on this board. Simple discussion board turns into finger pointing and deflection. I have Not seen anyone condone the actions of Dusty or Haywood. But you bring up a simple observation that my have contributed to the powder keg then the gloves come off and the finger pointing starts. You look around and the refs and umpires that are highly respected all have one thing in common. Consistency!!!!!!

  13. I thought Dr. Bell handled the meeting and the questions very intelligently, very respectfully, very professionally and his explanations were very rational and logical. The school board member that was quoted as saying he "disagrees with that" regarding it was ok for good students to transfer in, was later quoted as saying "well who gives a rat's, ..before trailing off" and even admitted that the tuition students help raise academic scores, after he was complaining that they were not putting a priority on academics, did not sound professional, rational or logical in the least. Several friends of mine that are not from Blount county read the article. Especially with the two board members having the same last name, almost all of them made the comment that this seemed personal not professional and had nothing to do with academic concerns or the best interest of the children. A logical , inquisitive person can infer pretty quickly what the real issue is. Some folks can't handle competition.
