I was mulling it over in my head this morning in the shower. I think going 22-12 from here on would give them a good shot at it, and 24-10 would guarantee it. They need to take 3 of these final 5 from the Baby Bears at least. It doesn't matter what they do the rest of the way, if they can take care of business head to head then I don't know if the rest will matter.

For those blasting the Titans in the offseason for letting Henry go, once again, they seem to have known what they were doing: http://www.ajc.com/services/content/metro/...=7&cxcat=13

Ancient legend has it that it is this water-like substance that falls from the sky. I just know that weather.com has at least a 40% chance of it for the Knoxville area the rest of the week.

I agree FBE, I agree. I can see William Blount's stadium lights from my house, and it's made me itchy for some football. I'm hoping for a rainout of my softball game Thursday evening so I can sneak over to watch this one before heading over to Aloca Friday night.

yet another reason to not like/elect Hillary
Solomon replied to texas23's topic in Politics, National Issues, & Controversy
How about the idea of leaving it up to the people who own the public places? Government property, impose all you want. If a place wants to let people smoke there, then fine. If you don't like the smoky area, don't go there. Just yet another example of the party of personal freedom that cried over the Bush admin doing things to take away freedoms pushing more government control over out everyday lives. -
Why is it that we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway? (Listeners to the show will get this.)

Ummmm........no. Let me guess, band camp is harder than football practice too right?
-
I gotcha back Kev-O. I have no time for high school bands. If you need me, just let me know.

I'm expecting about the same coach. I've finally given up on the back yard until the fall and I'm just going to start from scratch. All I am doing is watering crab grass at this point.

I don't know too much about Station Camp..3A quarterfinalist last year I believe, but the other two programs you mention aren't exactly the normal 2A school. I'd dare say either or could hold their own in 4A and 5A. Not so much a trend as much as just two very good prgrams that just happen to be smaller schools.

Ah yes, I remember when I left for college............ I remember when mom and dad helped me move in and mom and dad both left crying. I remember Mom getting mad when I came home Labor Day weekend and didn't spend enough time with them...... And then I remember coming home for Christmas that year, waking up one Saturday morning and my parents not being there, calling them on their cell phone to see where they were and finding out they had decided to drive to a mall somewhere in Kentucky and then driving over to Branson to eat at Lambert's. They wanted to go and didn't figure I would mind. The next Christmas my mom kicked me out of the house one day because she told me I was spending too much time at home and I was getting on her nerves. What I am trying to say is.......life will go on if you want it to.

This guy definitely deserved to have his nose broken at least.

Hmm.............Greeneville is still to close to me. You can move elsewhere now.

Biggest headache in Knoxville now is that they have now moved on to James White Pkwy. Supposed to be up by Oct 1. If you don't go John Sevier all the way over to Alcoa Hwy, my suggestion is to take 640 around Knoxville, and when you get to the end, go left back towards downtown and Alcoa Hwy will be less than a mile. As for the band, yeah, go to a game at UT. You will notice the band NEVER plays during the actual play istelf. Only during the dead times. Most high school band directors are ignorant or more than likely so arrogant that they believe the people are there for the band. (Sorry, I try to keep my mouth shut regarding bands, but I'm really tired of most of them playing the whole game non-stop.)

Rogan is going to get some special team playing time early on and I think he'll work his way into Chavis' "Mustang" package by the end of the year. He may end up returning kickoffs as well. Fulmer has said nothing but the highest praise for him so far. He and Barry are making me smile for what the future of the UT secondary holds. I saw Fulton play either 4 or 5 times last year, and I didn't see the first on-the-field issue from them. I saw a couple of games where they would have been compltely justified decking players on the other team, but they never did, not the first time. I also sat on their side a lot, and I didn't encounter the first issue of any fan. I suppose when a team has won a state title, any team's fan base could be considered arrogant and cocky. And they have every right to be. OR should win this game. Not because it is 5A versus 3A, but because Fulton lost a lot of players from last year and it is week 1. If this was week 8, 9, or 10 I would say Fulton would have a better chance to win. The only laughable part of the article is that their should be a worry about playing this 3A team. Fulton was one of the top 5 teams in the state last year regardless of classification (in my opinion #2), and by the end of the season will probably be one of the top 10-15 this year. If OR is looking for the best out-of-region opponents, then I don't care what classification it is, there are not many teams in this area better than Fulton unless OR wants to drive to play those middle TN 5A teams that always seem to be their undoing in late November. And LL, don't worry, I still respect your opinion.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2007/...-bible-in-nola/ I don't care which side of the political fence it is, there is no place for politicing during a service. I really wish the IRS would come in and start yanking exempt statuses from churches that make a habit of it. (Nevermind Obama suddenly recongnizing Christianity when it benefits him and how irate that makes me as well. Or that he had absolutely no clue what he was talking about.)

I feel bad for the guy in the picture. He's put his money and time into owning a McDonalds, and the poor sap can't even find people to work for him, for even $10 an hour. 2% unemloyment rate in the area. Read on, the timber industry is hurting in the area too. I think the government should step in and make people work for him. Anybody else agree? http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070825/D8R820QO0.html

I watched from home, and I don't know nor care why Ryan didn't play the first half, but I don't know if it would have mattered. West has the skill positions, but the line play did not impress me at all on either side of the ball. The only question I had watching was why Farragut even tried to do anything other than line up and pound it between the tackles in the secomd half. Offensively, their were several guys break through quickly. In my opinion, if West is going to live up to the pre-season billing I have heard, the line play will have to be better.

The T$$AA moved the entire season back one week. Last year, this week would be week 1 and week 0 would have been last week. -

East TN? Wait a gosh-darn mintue here................ And don't confuse his area of residence with West TN either. I am a native West Tennessean and I can promise you that we all whole-heartedly do not claim his area as West Tennessee. Once you enter Shelby County, you are no longer in the West Tennessee area, but the Memphis area. -

Dems coming around on war in Iraq
Solomon replied to VolunteerGeneral's topic in Politics, National Issues, & Controversy
VG, I don't necessarily as coming around that we are winning in a positive way as so much as the Democrats are realizing that their #1 rally call to regain power is losing strength. And instead of meeting to strategize ways to work with the President and the Iraqi government, they instead are meeting to change their policy so they can continue to fight the battles in Iraq....that are now working. Remember, winning in Iraq means losing for the Democrats, and that simply can't happen. You have to remember what is most important to the Congresswoman from California and company.....regaining total control in DC. (By the way, congrats to the Congresswoman for leading the now lowest rated Congress according to the polls in the history of American political polling. We should all be proud of her and her party.) -
I'm looking forward to actually getting to go to the game this year, even if I may have to take a half a day of vacation to make sure I get in the gates. Interesting take papa chaos. I grew up in a situation much like what you described there, and I will say that you are probably dead on with your comments.
