  1. Wow! Looks like Ravenwood's principal will be wearing a Brentwood shirt on Friday. Good job BHS students, that is very impressive.
  2. Still waiting for the Johnny Cash tribute by a band..........until then shorten halftime by 10 minutes and let's get back to the game!
  3. 1,000 yards total offense and Huntingdon in a wild one.
  4. This team may set an NFL record for 45-31 losses.........
  5. I about fell off the couch when I saw they won.......104.5 is going to be insane this week. If they want to have a shot at a bowl, they HAVE to be 4-1 before they go into that homestretch. They can beat UK and can knock off another, but they will have to be 4-1.
  6. 49ers are cursed by the football gods from now to eternity for cutting him too.
  7. I've actually been shocked that most places didn't have them 3-13 or so. I don't think they will make the playoffs by any stretch (the AFC is friggin loaded and youth just can't win consistently), but I think they are a legit 7-9 or 8-8 team who should be ready to make a run in 06.
  8. Up until the Rocket's last two starts, I would have said Houston for sure for NL wild card, but he has been roughed up in those. I think it's going to wind up being the Marlins for the NL Wild Card. AL.....I was hoping for a Sox sweep of the Yankees this weekend just to make it more likely that both of them wouldn't get in, but in reality both of them will get in along with the Sox and Angels.
  9. 1,038 yards of offense in one game both team combined? Wow! Defensive coordinator's nightmare! But at least fans got their $5 worth!
  10. Cutcliffe is living in Knoxville now.......and I do agree with your assessment. I noticed the same things about the safties and our run game. I wish I had an answer. However, I do love this. Teams have bad games occasionally. Occasionally those times also happens when other teams play good games. UAB ain't that bad and we played average. I was at the game, and I never for the first time thought the game was out of our control. Even at the end of the game, I never thought we would lose. There are a few little thing that need to be tweaked, and we will be fine. Quite honestly, the final should have been about 27-3, but it wasn't, we won, so quit worrying, complaining, and let's move on. I heard Doug Matthews say on George Plaster in Nashville on my way up to Knoxville that if he had it to do over again, he would savor every win regardless of the opponent and never take one for granted. Sounded like pretty good advice, and as a fan, that's how I'm going to start looking at it. I suggest all of you do the same!
  11. No one thought Lexington would be 2-0 right now. Got a decent chance to go 3-0 for the first time since the late 80s Friday.
  12. Something tells me this will be a money game and the Milan B/Freshman team will be taking most of the snaps.
  13. He's got a QB that is going to throw the ball and isn't the most overrated player in the league at the healm now. Price will be fine. He's a solid #2 receiver when he has a QB.
  14. How can you make the heading be "Best LB in the state" then put middle TN below it? That makes no sense.
  15. I say this. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/...ones_paternity/
  16. Heard it on 104.5 this morning on the way to work. Absolutely horrible. His family, friends, and teammates will be in my prayers.
  17. Don't worry about it. If we take care of business then we will still be in Pasadena to ring in 2006. Two things two remember: 1. Never look at baseball standing until the end on April 2. Never judge a football team by it's first game.
  18. You give me a free ticket, or even one of the $29 for half price and I am there.* *-(Assuming no UT football game on date of game)
  19. You better find an offense if you want to maek a run at it. If Jason Marquis two-hits you, that is bad.............very bad.
  20. Well, come May I'll be back in Knoxville so this will all be moot. For a sport that is coming off a lockout, can't sign a deal with ESPN for coverage - and ESPN will show anything, and is probably currently behind Arena Legaue Football and AAA baseball in popularity in America, yes, it is too expensive. A Bill Simmons article said it best, the top NHL players should be paid about 100K, and the rest should make about $20/hour with OT pay for OT games.
  21. It's just not worth it to me. The $10 seats are horrible, and if you were low in the upper deck, yeah the $29 would be ok I suppose. All I am saying is that if the $29 were about $15-20, I'd be a lot more likely to go, probably on a regular basis. Right now there is nothing about them that makes me want to be loyal. Does that make sense? From a marketing standpoint, they need to do a better job of reeling me in. I'm not the only one here who feels like it is too expensive either.
  22. Well, my entire family are Democrats. I didn't see the light until college (How many people go from a Democrat to Republican in college? I admit I am completely odd.). I guess those old traits come back to the surface every now ans then. It's a pretty simple explanation. I'm a sports nut. I'll go to a game, I could care less who's playing if I think it's worth it. I was bored Saturday and went to see MBA/Trinity play. Could have cared less about the outcome, but I knew it would be a good game and good football. I wasn't disappointed and am glad I went. That said, even though I currently not too excited about the Preds, I am at least intreagued enough to go to an NHL game for a decent price. I'm willing to become a fan, but $10 for the nosebleed seats isn't a decent price to get me to go to a game, IMO. And I'm not paying $50 or more to sit lower. I just don't think it's worth it. Cut the prices in half, and I'm there at least once, probably a lot more. But where it stands now, I just don't think it's worth it.
