  1. I seen both teams play several times last year. Lebanon was easily better than Gallatin last year. They had 3 like opponents. Mt. Juliet stole Gallatin's lunch money 49-3 and barely beat Lebanon by 4. Station Camp beat Gallatin and got blown out by Lebanon 42-0. Wilson Central lost to Gallatin by 7 and to Lebanon by 21. The same thing the season before with Lebanon beating a Hendersonville team that beat by Gallatin by 21. Its been a few years since these teams played. These aren't the same Lebanon Blue Devils they will come ready to play. This team is younger than the last two seasons so who knows if it will make a difference this year. But don't expect to circle this as a win.
  2. Is it though? Especially if it is a blowout. Its not like RBS occasionally has a team that could compete or even keep it close with a bigger school. I enjoy seeing teams play teams in the area. I've loving getting to see TC play Gallatin and Lebanon even if it wasn't the best matchup on paper. I enjoy watching them get to play Macon, Westmoreland, Watertown, Friendship, Gordy etc. and wished they still played Smith County. I would have liked to see Lebanon occasionally play Watertown or Friendship.
  3. I agree. They got better throughout the season and I expect that to be a trend with that coaching staff.
  4. Yeah DCA was absolutely terrible last year (went 0-10). How does a team go from playing for a State Championship to going winless the next season is hard to grasp. I watched one of their games and they seemed like they weren't even prepared to play. Like the others have mentioned TC has plenty of players to watch out for at the skill positions. They probably have a handful of kids that would be the main playmaker on some other schools in the area. But the offensive line is the question mark for this team.
  5. I thought I had read that they have 100-110 kids on the roster but that 80% of them are Freshman or Soph.
  6. I thought I had heard that East Robertson had that QB get hurt. If so that is a big blow.
  7. They should be good upfront on both sides of the ball as they got some college prospects there again. On defense they have a good experienced secondary but lost most of what was a really good group of linebackers. On offense they have a 1,000-yard back coming back who put on 25-30 pounds in the offseason and will be handful. They also have some other really good athletes returning at wide receiver. My biggest question mark for them is the Quarterback. Ive seen him play in a backup role the last two seasons in several games and whenever he came in the offense went nowhere. So he is gonna have to be much improved or else teams will be able to just load up against the run.
  8. I expect it to be a good game. I know it was a down year but didn't Smith County have a young team? And Macon County got better as the season progressed and will likely continue to get better as they have a great coach.
  9. I seen them play at Jamboree last year and there wasn't much pep there before the season even started.
  10. An old rivalry gets renewed Friday night after a brief break. Both teams come into 2019 looking to build off of last year. Gallatin had its ups and downs in 2018 and hope to be improved this season. The word is that they have looked better this summer. Lebanon is coming in off one of their best seasons in a long time going 8-3 last year. But they graduated some very good players in key positions namely a Quarterback now at Ball State and a Lineman now at Georgia. They will rely on the running back on offense and may not be as good defensively as they were last year but still should be solid. I know this series goes back but this site only goes to 2001. But Gallatin has won 11 of the 12 meetings since that point. These teams haven't played in a couple seasons so we will find out if things have changed come Friday night. Either way I expect it to be a low scoring slobber knocker.
  11. When you are building a team from scratch in 6A in a region that includes Oakland, Riverdale, Blackman and Cookeville yeah that is a darn good season. But it isn't gonna happen. They might win a couple games. I read earlier that it was 20-7 Forrest when the starters came out.
  12. Mine was a doozy. Trousdale County played Monterey and the score was 91-0.
  13. Trousdale had Lebanon and Whitwell on the schedule last year and this year replaced them with Portland and Bye Week. The toughest games IMO would be Friendship, Watertown and Macon County. We will find out this week but I am thinking that Watertown may end up being the toughest game. I know that Friendship lost their QB from last year but from what I heard they have something like 15-16 starters returning so I don't know if I would consider them to be rebuilding. Trousdale County 28 Friendship Christian 14
  14. This game was 48-8 last year. I know its a different year and some faces have changed.... But I don't think enough changed to see a completely different ball game. But I would love for Gordy to prove me wrong. Watertown 35 Gordonsville 14
  15. I watched them play Lebanon last year and sat right behind their sidelines. Lebanon won that game 42-0 but the talent gap wasn't that wide. There was no energy or organization on the sideline even before kickoff. They looked like they were running the same 4-5 plays the entire game to the point to where in the 2nd half the Lebanon players where adjusting pre-snap and calling some of the plays. The fans were screaming at the coaches "turn the playbook to page 2" and "are we gonna run left or right". From what I've heard they are in a bad spot due to zoning. But from what I've seen they should be better than the product on the field. I think they need a coaching change.
  16. I wouldn't be surprised. I seen them blow out some pretty decent teams in that span. And yes they didn't seem as good last year.
  17. I've got to see the Jr. High team play several times the last couple years. I know they got some good kids for at least that long.
  18. I don't know how much credit he should get for that because the middle schools didn't have weight programs until about 6 years ago. I believe that was something that Harp put in place. These kids last year and this year are the first kids from that group that got started in a weight program in middle school.
  19. Stewarts Creek or Station Camp? Because it shouldn't be that difficult for Station Camp to be better than they were last year.
  20. I believe they had been playing at another Prep academy field. I could be wrong. I remember people saying in the past that they didn't have many home games.
  21. I seen Lebanon play LaVergne the last two years and yeah I sat on the LaVergne side and was shocked. Players arguing on the sidelines, fans and parents yelling at players and coaches and players taking plays off and giving up on plays on the field. They had the ball in the red zone and I seen a kid make a pitch that was dropped and just throw his hands up and start walking off the field while the live ball just bounced around on the field and eventually get recovered by the other team. In a game they lost by 5.
  22. Well they play a couple teams that also went 0-10 last year. So hopefully not.
