What is the purpose of your question? To start a fight? Who are you hoping participates in this thread?

Ole Dad

Quite the contrary, Who participates in this thread is up to the poster. Just pull it off, interesting response. I guess their is a difference between age and maturity.

from an outsider looking in

brentwood academy

they came in as a private and took going after top athletes and offering financial aid to a whole ne w level.

fr did not follow suit and they went from being the only place good athletes could go ( especially metro athlets) to behind ba

How do you conceivably not mention MBA as a place for good athletes to go? If you meant "good athletes without good academic skills" I guess you're correct.

Did they not go from winning 3 games in 3 years, to 3 games in one year? Right there is your evaluation. It's going 3 times better than it has been.

To be specific, it was five games in three years. Still, in two of those years, FRHS won a DII-AAA contest; they won no league contests this year.

The Franklin win was very nice, and there has been improvement from previous years, but to say things are three times better is a stretch.

The respect the players have for their coach is what matters. I'm sure no one doubts that Ryan players want to win and they felt confident after doing so against two 5A teams this year. They were certainly better this year with what seemed to be much more leadership from their seniors, something that has not existed in the past couple years under Jemison. They have a lot of athletes and don't lose much size next year. The team will have a lot of seniors next year. I expect them to make the playoffs at the very least.

OleDad doesn't belong in the D2 discussions. Too much uranium in yall's water must make you the way you are.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
