Can't wait to see this one! Very exciting and it's guaranteed the Owls are looking for some redemption. The brand of football they've been playing the past few weeks is nearly flawless. Heard Brian Marshall is back and healthy? And I think the key to this game is indeed the pass defense... Owls secondary better be on their toes.

Flawless? I don't know that I would say that. Very poor first half against Oak Ridge; other than some unbelievable quick strike plays, Soddy gave them a game and through one first half drive they had at least two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties -- unnecessary; and against Dobyns Bennett they completely collapsed defensively in the last 5 minutes. Not exactly flawless.

However, I would agree they are playing very good. They seem to be healthy again, and I haven't seen an offense in this part of the state so explosive in a long time. You can't turn your backs on them or they have blown by you. The surprising thing to me is that they have done it both on the ground (no surprise) and in the air. They really have some quality receivers with some good hands, and when Woods gets hot, they tend to catch anything coming their way.

Farragut is a very good football team; their psyche was damaged against Oak Ridge and the question is whether they have gotten beyond that beating. If not, it could get ugly again. Ooltewah on the other hand cannot go back up there and just expect a win. If they have a bunch of turnovers again, Farragut is a team that will stick it to them once again.

Wow, from Cookeville to Kingsport no one thinks Farragut can win. 10 to 1 odds.

If they play smart and hard they can go to the next round.

Rigger,

At this point of the season I think most of the pretenders are gone. Lot of the teams have already played each other once. I really believe that at least as far as 5A is concerned any team still in it can win 4 more games against the opponents they have to play. Just depends on who wants it most and who proves it on the field. At this point in the season I think the talent is there for all of them. On any given night I think Ooltewah, Cookville, Farragut, OR, Riverdale, Wilson or any other team left in it has the talent on the field to beat the other. Playoffs will come down to like always execution and turnovers.

GL

Go Owls.

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
