texas23
True True...But he has to develop as a QB or he won't last that long in the league...there will be atleast 1 team every year to know how to beat him and he'll never go to a Superbowl... Are you saying he does not have the ability to develop as a QB? and it that is what you are saying, why is he not able to, in you opinion? I have already seen, or least I think I have, him become more likely to stay in the pocket and go thru his reads than he did when he came into the league. He seems to be a guy who works on his game during the off season as well.
Gerry Bertier
Well Vick is playing like a Pro Bowler today. He fumbled once but besides that he has been playing very well. Right now they are beating the Buccaneers keeping their playoff hopes alive(even though I am rooting against the Falcons so my Redskins can clinch with an ATL loss, Dallas loss and Minn. loss). If you watch today's game, you will notice that the majority of Vick's incompletions is due to drop balls by his recievers. They are not very consistent. Like I said doubt him if you want, but he gives the Falcons the best chance to win, and he has won in the playoffs and if he gets in he will be one of the more experience QB's in the playoffs. Didn't say nothing that he won't...I said he HAS TO or he won't be much in the NFL for that long...He's not a complete QB, and he won't be until he learns to be able to pass the ball on a consistant basis... PrepFanatic
Vick is what the QB position is about, putting scoring drives together for your team. He might have only 200 yards passing, but what about the 50 yards rushing. He makes you account for him on every single play, and Warrick Dunn is having the best year of his career and he is much older than he was in Tampa when he had a better line because of Micheal Vick. Atlanta lost today, but they will be in the playoffs and they are very very good when he is the lineup.

And you did not qualify that other than one team a year would know how to beat him.
wingman10
Vick is a vey talented player. What stands out is his lack of composure. Most great qbs have poise....Michael seems to lack it. Edited December 25, 2005 by wingman10

And you did not qualify that other than one team a year would know how to beat him. He will NEVER go to a superbowl unless he learns to develop as a quaterback...Last year I didn't think the Falcons was that good...It was that the NFC was just so bad...The Eagles was the only good team in the NFC last year and we all saw what happen to the Falcons last year when they met up with them...When he meets up with a good defense he can't do much with them...I love watching Michael Vick, but as long as he keeps up the way he plays and not throwing the ball good on a consistant basis he won't ever win a superbowl... Well,, that is kind of what I said. I believe he will continue to develop. I think everyone could agree that without any progress, he will continue to be the same, no surprise there. Was Dilfer consistent in his entire career? Was Dan Marino, he never won a superbowl either. How consistent was Jim Kelly,,,,errr....wide field goal and he goes down as a superbowl loser. He put them in position to win, but nope, wide kick. If the superbowl is the bar, than the vast majority of QB's will not meet your expectations. I think Vick has the ability to develope, but look at the stats, it seems as if Vick peaked his 2nd year and since then leveled off! He has not continued to improve!!! You are right, Vick did have some dropped ball yesterday, but you also have to admit , that Jenkins made 2 very important catches in that game when the throws were awful!!!
