Solomon, what is your take on Weaver?

 

I agree with GB that something behind the scenes had to happen. That's all I could come up with either. If it has, they've done a nice job of keeping it out of the news.

 

As for Weaver....why not? The Angels are still picking up his salary. Cards had a hole to fill in the rotation until the middle of August when Mulder gets back. If he wins 4 games during that time I'll be happy. If he wins 5 or more I'll be estatic. I'm expecting 2 or 3. Duncan has worked wonders with guys like him before, and absolutely no one is expeting any more out of him than to just be a 5th starter. Too much potential to not do the deal. If Duncan can salvage him, we've got another Woody Willaims like he found in 2001. Sometimes all it takes is a change of scenery.
