provx you are the only moron....I didn't say anything about shelbyville cheating, all I said was that hamilton was facing 5 players plus 3 officials.....it was obvious that those two refs had it out for hamilton.....the WEST is still king hater....get over it....GOLD BALL is at home resting.....

i only seen hamilton play twice and the first game is how good they really are when they beat down greenville..they sohuld have beat shelbyville like that..i tihnk shelbyville got lucky and caught them on a bad day plus the cheatin...i think siegel had the better chance of acually winnin against hamilton....but i think the gold ball comes back to the boro next yr

bballrocks.....the true champs won the game, and you are runnerups.....I didn't say that this was going to be easy....shelbyville played a good game, however, this was the worst officiating game in the whole tournament....since you're talking about fouls, mcintyre was knocked down, watkins was pulled out the air, and williams was fouled several times....you mean to tell me that the refs wasn't trying to determine the outcome of this game then obviously it will take you all year to wonder about what could have happen.....we r the champs, and you can't do nothing about but run your mouth....

I was just wondering due you think the refs were against Hamilton in their first 2 games or was it just the Shelbyville game?

Hamilton ALWAYS blames the refs when things don't go their way. I remember in the state tournament of 2003 when Hamilton's coach had to be escorted from the court. In that game too, up until the last few minutes when Hamilton was forced to foul, the fouls were in favor of Hamilton. YET, the coach wanted to yell at the refs for every call that went against them. I think Shelbyville has a very classy coach. He outcoached Hamilton, even though they lost. I don't think anybody even thought they would be in the game with them. Congratulations to Shelbyville on a GREAT season and for showing class on the court. I would rather lose with class than win with no class. By the way, there are always many calls in a game that can be questioned. As many go FOR a team as against that team. Personally, I thought the refs did a pretty good job in the state. Much better than I saw during the region tournaments.

If you recall I congratulated Hamilton on the win.

if this is any consulation I am still trying to get over the cubs getting beat by the "fan interference" call.

Its just a game and the 2 best teams in the state represented Tennessee very well. Its all about the kids and I hope the kids from Hamilton as well as Shelbyville go on to show the rest of the country that some of the best basketball players come from this great state!!! :D

Did anyone else notice the coaching job that Hamiltons coach did? Hamilton had a 6 point lead in regulation with one minute to go and his players were shooting 3 pointers? There were other occasions late in the game and in OT where Hamilton had the lead and the ball and were shooting as if they were behind :D . Hamilton was lucky they had enough talent to overcome and still get the win. Most coaches I know would have been running clock getting the other team to foul and this game would have NEVER went into overtime.

Congrats to Hamilton on their championship and to Shelbyville on a great season.

What Coaching? ;) I couldn't believe it. You have a three point lead and they have the ball and ten seconds. You contest (without fouling) the ball up the court and then ALL 5 players are on the perimeter. You don't even worry about a two pt basket. You can't shoot a three if you can't get the pass. Hamilton won because they had more high quality personnel on the floor at the end of the game, not because they knew what they were doing. I was amazed at the lack of ball "savy" and situational coaching. But no one had played them that close, this was a new situation for them. Just one man's opinion. ;) As far as the Refs go.................. you think they were bad. You oughta come to some of the district games. :o

What about when the horn blew after play had started. The ref, the one that called the foul on the 3, wasn't going to stop the action until he saw the SCHS player dribble the ball across the midcourt line. It should have been a backcourt violation, but he used the inadvertant horn as a way to bail out SCHS.

3 things:

--- Foul on the 3 at the horn--It looked pretty clean to me.

--- Above mentioned backcourt/bailout

--- Out of bounds call---pathetic

I'm not a fan of either team but it looked like the stripes were doing everything they could to get SCHS to win that game.

TSSAA officials need to look hard a this one.

Out of bounds was a clear REF choke.

The horn blew because the TV timeout wasn't over yet. The Officials started the game before they were suppose too. I was sitting next to the TV team and know this as fact.

The 3 point foul was a FOUL & a STUPID one at that. If you've not seen the TV replay you need to. If you have and you still say it was then you have NO idea what a foul is.

Additionally, there a foul called "hooking", it's when an offensive player wraps his elbow around a defender and uses that leverage to go by him. The Tourney MVP (and he clearly was the MVP) is a master at it. Over all I think the refs were ok. They are MUCH better than we get at district level.

Congrats to Hamilton and Shelbyville. I witnessed the greatest game played in boys history..................... I still shake my head thinking about it. For all the things wrong with the TSSAA and refs and whatever. What happened on that court Saturday night is what is right with high school athletics. Despite the refs, the fans, the TV and whatever you want to add to that mix. The game was decided by the players.

I agree. This was one of the most outstanding games I have ever witnessed. I was glad I was there to witness it and didnt watch it on tv. The atmosphere was incredible inside of Murphy Center.
