Mikie Minor faced 24 batters tonight and struck out 21 of them. He gave up 2 hits and his first earned run of the year. Is the 21 strike outs for a 7 inning game a state record? I think that it is.

heck of a game for minor, i know matt packer struck out 20 for CBHS in their 7-1 win at BGA but 21 is that much better. congrats to him

It has to at least tie the record. Theres only 21 outs in a 7 inning game. Minor threw a perfect 7 inning game last year against Eagleville. That was in front of college scouts. Talk about pressure.

it acttually doesnt have to tie the record, theoretically you could strike out 8, 9, or more innings worth...i guess it would have to stop at 10 due to tssaa rules but extra inning strikeouts would count.

According to the records on tbca.org, the record was 20. So saying that, with Minor throwing 21 it is a new State Record. Great job Mikie.

unless this has changed the pitcher can go more than 10 innings as long as it is in the same game - example - game goes 11 innings, he can go all 11 of 1 game but couldn't if he pitched 7 in game one and no more than 3 of game 2...
