Are you smokin crack? Maryville has ducked and shucked 5A for years even though they had a choice to move up...and now you contend that the 5A schools are ducking them. Your posts are hilarious and filled with garbage. Do you think before you actually write this bull? I doubt it seriously.

That sure was alot of games you attended to see all the above games and post season.

I personally saw a scrimmage with DB and Maryville, one of DB's better years, and Maryville had no problem. Of course it was a scrimmage though.

Oak Ridge and Maryville have scrimmaged as of the past couple of years, and yes this year was a close one, but the past couple of years it was not.

I know its only a scrimmage, but most coaches want to

5A teams have constantly avoided playing Maryville for a reason. WB and Heritage don't really have a choice.

I am not at all a Maryville fan, but there is not any better football in Tennessee than Maryville.

In all aspects of the game they are at the top. Offense, defense, and special teams.

You talk to any coach that has played or scrimmaged Maryville, in any classification, and they can tell you. Ask Stanton at Oak Ridge, or Graham at DB. Both of them will tell you that Maryville is the best.

Careful now.......I said 4a is better than 5A in EAST TENNESSEE! I also said that Maryville would beat the 5A teams in East Tennessee regularly.

Hater and jealous..........I would say that is accurate..

I know what you said, and it was what I meant. I didn't think I'd have to include that, since this whole topic is about East Tennessee.

And I'm saying that you're ignorant, because I do not hate Maryville (yet, I'm beginning to change my mind), and ducking 5A is nothing to be jealous of.

I've stated my opinion, and I also have alot of respect for everyone else's opinion. I'm not going to get in a war with someone else because their opinion is different than mine. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see what happens when Maryville is finally pushed into 5A.

Why wait.............Maryville will still smoke WB year in and year out just like they do now

Straight from the local Highschool expert's fingers. Next question Mikey...TG....Ole Dad..... and the rest of you jealous haters..

Why did you call me a jealous hater? Just because I think 5a is tougher than 4a? That is like an Appalachia State fan saying someone is a jealous hater if they say Texas is better than Appy State. They both did win a national championship last year.

Reb,

I am goin to try and give you some insight into football fans. It may be over your head but I will give it a shot. And by the way it applies to all supporters of all athletic teams in general.

There are literaly thousands of high school football teams and hundreds of college teams. Most fans of those teams will never see their teams win a state championship or a national championship. In fact, many of them will wait for years to see a winning season. That doesn't make them any less of a true fan of their school...in fact it is a tribute to what athletics is all about. Heck, when Vanderbilt fans got to finally compete it wasn't for an SEC Championship, but for a bowl game....something that many schools take for granted. These are where the true fans are...not the "hangers on" that jump on the band wagon for the champion. It is easy to follow the team that is dominant.....much more difficult to follow the one that is 0-10.

So, before you start thinking that you can slight fans of teams that are not as successfual as the one you have chosen to follow....engage your brain and understand that in the end only 5 high school teams in Tennessee will even remotely have a chance of finishing undefeated and hundreds will always loose a game. They have the true fans at those mediocore schools not at the perenial powers that recuit and play down divisions to win. And by the way OR is not one of them....they have, I believe, a program that is rated in the top 30 high school teams in the nation overall for winning percentages. But I have followed teams that don't win very often and they were just as enjoyable in their own way. It would be a very sad day for sports if all fans were as shallow as yourself and based their support only if a team competes for a state championship. You will figure this out for yourself once you get out inthe real world and experience life. But I thought I would try and give you a head start.

And by the way, OR may not beat Maryville the first time they play, or the second or the third....but they will always fill the stands and have a huge following and in the end will win their share of games. You see, they have tradition, and in the end they will continue to be successful. Be careful of support for your team's big success with a big mouth....that is just more opportunity for a bigger crow.
