My pick once again Hunter Green from Rhea County. The TSSAA AAA State Golf Champ of 2005. He has been hot over the summer and he is looking to do the same in the up coming High School Golf Season.

Yeah I did it again I picked the State Champ two years in a row. Way to go Hunter You are the Best in The State of Tennessee in AAA

Green was the state champ as a sophomore...there's a big difference between state champ and district player of the year.

To any other person who thinks that someone else is the best golfer in the state I've got one question to ask...

How many rings they got??

Green has two. No one else can say that, and he'll proabably have three before next year is over.

So...whatever. You can't argue with success like that.

Kiss the ring.

Agreed. I was district player of the year, but I never won state. They don't even compare. It takes a special player to win the state tournament, much less win it twice in a row. Congratulations Hunter. I enjoyed watching you play on Tuesday and Wednesday at Old Fort. Good luck next year!

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
