Coffee County vs. Lincoln County

The play in the end zone when the quarterback was being sacked and tried to throw the ball away and the Falcons recovered it in the end zone should have resulted in no less than two points for Lincoln County. He was either sacked (a safety), intentional grounding in the endzone (again, a safety), or he fumbled the ball and Lincoln County's #79 recovered it in the endzone (touchdown). Refs definitely blew that one. It's no big deal since the Falcons won, but I remember reading someone's post about having to go to the Pit and play the Falcons and the refs. The refs pretty much called a good game last night, but if they were calling in favor of either team, it DEFINITELY wasn't the home team!!! :thumb: Oh yeah, the phantom feet tangling on the CC touchdown pass when the only thing that got tangled up was the receivers forearm in the defenders back as he was pushing him down...... B)

I didn't even realize he was in the end zone. I was on the other end of the stadium. Pitiful call...

Talked to him, he said he was bumped. Don't know how much but it doesn't take alot for an interference call when a defender gets knocked down.

doesn't take much to fall down if you know your butt is beat either.........kinda like a flop in basketball

congrats to the falcons good luck against cookville

It surely doesn't take much to fall down when you get shoved in the back. The film doesn't lie pal. But, you know what, it doesn't matter, all that means that instead of losing 34-11, you lost 34-18.....:lol: "butt is beat" you have got to be kidding me, he was stride for stride with the guy.....:blink:

I didn't get to make it to this game, but a buddy of mine kept me informed of it. Sounded like it was good up till the 4th quarter. Coffee Co just needs to forget about this game and focus on Baylor. If I remember correctly I think their RB is like 6'1" 240....I think...he's already committed to UT Knoxville. His name is Kevin Cooper. He runs a 4.7 40yrd dash. Powerful I'd say so. His junior year, he rushed for 1,054 yards and 15 TD's on 154 carries. He also recorded 29 receptions for 241 yards. So he's looking like a pretty good threat. I'm not sure about the rest of the Baylor team. This will also get added to the Baylor/Coffee Co. thread when it gets started. Good luck though to the Falcons for a great game next week against Cookeville I think.

ha I'd say that the refs were prett horrible both ways. But hey, as far as the interference is concerned...it isn't a penalty unless they call it lol  .....but CC caught a break on the play in the end zone I think....and there were a few that went the other way.....the uneccesary roughness call on Harris after the Lincoln County score was ridiculous....he was diving at Ramsey and had already left his feet before Ramsey crossed the plane.....so I would say they were pretty bad both ways.....but ohh well....the Refs didnt' cost anybody the game. The Raiders simply didn't capitilize on Falcon turnovers. The Lincoln County defense is pretty tough though. By far the best Coffee County has seen this season! Matt Moran is def. the real deal! Good luck to the Falcons next week against the Cavs and hopefully the Raiders can rebound and win the last two. Gotta beat Warren County to stay out of that Riverdale game, and a win against Baylor as well would make for a .500 season!

I always said Moran was a football player...just has to stay healthy.

I have to disagree with you on the personal foul on the touchdown. If Harris had already left his feet before Ramsey crossed the goal line, then I expect to see him in the next summer olympics because Ramsey was at least five yards into the endzone when he was hit. I do agree that Coffee County didn't capitalize on Falcon turnovers. Lincoln County cannot keep fumbling 5 times a game and expect to win, especially when you lose four of those five fumbles. Good luck to the Raiders to win out.

It was Shelton, not Ramsey that was personal fouled in the endzone. We ran a fake dive naked QB keep around left end. I watched the film, and the one defender that was on him as he crossed the plane didn't hit him. Someone else hit him after he'd been out of bounds for a full second. Good game CC, but I'm really wonderin why everyone was so up about all these returning defensive starters. They must have still been hurt.

Isn't it enough that you won?

CC can't play defense. They are a prime example that it does not matter how many players are returning if they are not very good anyway. Some kids don't get any better from one year to the next. Some do.

CC hasn't stopped anyone all year so there is no reason to think that they will start now.

Offense will have to carry this team.

    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
    • No my fight, but ... if they were already college-caliber prior to transferring to BHS, and they already had FBS interest, and they end up at an FBS school, how did Bearden do anything for them?
