I believe Lipscomb wins this game but it ain't going to be easy.

Lipscomb has had trouble defending the run at times this year and Giles has the players to hurt them. Dunnavant is an excellent runner at quarterback. He is also a good enough thrower to keep the Mustangs secondary honest. Edgmon is the best back in the region (outside of Elrod). If Giles lines up in the stack and starts hurting Lipscomb like Cheatham did it could be a long night. That's not all. Josh Perez is a big time player (I believe he's Giles Co.'s best player) at fullback. Giles can spread the field and he, along with JD, can hurt Lipscomb's defense. Stafford is a good enough kicker to help Giles win the field position battle against DL (not many teams have a shot to do that against Lipscomb).

On the other side of the ball Giles Co.'s defense will have a tough time stopping Lipscomb. DL has four backs that can take it to the house at any point in time during the game. They also have a QB-to-WR duo in Simpson-to-Rogers that Giles Co.'s secondary better learn to respect. Otherwise they'll be proned to the big play.

This one is a shootout at the Reese-Smith Athletic Complex next Friday night and I'll take the Mustangs to get the win by a final score of 41-28. It's going to be a shootout

No way to call High School football but Lipscomb is a machine. They have averaged putting 30 points in the first half every week since week one. Against Cheatham Co and Creek Wood they put up 41 and 42 respectively in the first half. Against Spring Hill 7 backs scored, 11 ran the ball. The "D" has at times been weak but adjustments appear to have been made this week.

Giles Co. has played strong, solid and consistent football. They have beat up on recent opponents. But earlier mutual opponents played them close.

All in all, could be a good game. Let's all play in this thread with the same class we expect the teams to show Friday night.

People said the same thing before Giles played Ensworth (private vs. public) and Giles won that one. I'll have to put my faith in Giles Co. it's been along time since these guys have been in the position they are in now and I don't believe that they will just let someone walk in and just take it away without a good fight. They have just focused on the game at hand all year and haven't overlooked any opponet so far. They know DL will be their biggext game to date and I'm sure they will bring their A-game plus alittle extra to Nashville friday night. I believe it will be a close game but Giles Co. will prevail. GOOOOO BOBCATS.

I disagree, I think this will be the toughest def.Lipscomb has seen.

I also believe the stongest off. Giles has seen.I think it will be a close, low

score game.Whoever makes the fewest mistakes /turnovers,and controls

the clock takes this one.

Great opportunity for both teams on Friday night to showcase their hardwork that both teams and coaching staffs have put forth this season. There will be only one scoreboard winner walk off the field on Friday night; but two teams with winning attitudes and positive outlooks for the playoffs will walk off together. This game has the potential to be one of the greatest games in middle Tennessee this year.

Forget all the public vs. private yak-yak . . . enjoy the young men, bands, cheerleaders, fans playing in a great high school match-up!

Best of luck to both teams and staffs. And safe travel for the fans.
