JCM @ Henry County

Recommended Posts

HC, do what it takes tonight on that field so that tomorrow you don't have any regrets. This night will only happen once in your life & there are no do overs, so make this one count! Be Safe & Play Fair ~till they play dirty~ then lay it on guys!

As I tell ya every Friday, "Whoop Tail Tonight & Good Luck"!!!!!!!!!

News Update:

From the mouths of some students the call on Randy was made by Ms. Poole. Something about he said the (######) word toward a game reff. It wasn't a call about his horn they said. He will be allowed to attend the game, but has to be escorted on & off the field. Yanker, don't be surprized if the crowd stands & cheers for him when he walks onto the field tonight. Randy Long is a legend of his own kind in HenryLand. They've even made a slogan about him, "Randy tutts my horn". JCM & Fans are in for a real treat win they enter The Patriots House. Don't forget your longjohns tonight. :thumb:

The YANKER is THRILLED to get this VITAL information!!! I intend to immediately wire this to the JCM staff so they can modify their game plan!!! The biggest game of the year and the Henryland faithful are still rambling on about a "legendary hornblower" who has been reprimanded by school officials!!!!! Only in Henryland could this be happening!!! Do the visitors generally travel by conventional means or do we need to book a flight on a space shuttle to find such a STRANGE place????? Either way...the YANKER will be in attendance!!!

Randy is a good guy. He loves the Patriots and Henry County. That said he can get carried away in the moment and the snowball effect takes over. What he did was wrong and he is paying the price as he should.

As far as coming out on the field with his son during pregame. He is just like the rest of us. Proud of child and proud of the Pats. Will he get extra claps? Bell ringing? I would say so, not from what happened last game but for being a major part of bringing Red Pride Spirit back to Patriot Stadium. The Senior FB players would expect nothing less.

There is little doubt that the "legendary hornblower" will get lots of "claps"...because that is the ONLY thing HC fans will have to clap about all night long!!!!! I AM THE YANKER...I AM THE YANKER...I AM THE YANKER!!!!!!!!!

It's a Good Day here in Henry County. Crisp Cool morning. Frost on the pumpkin.

Great Day for some Football.

I know Pats are wound up about this game. Lots of cheering by the fans tonight to keep warm.

Big sales on hot chocolate and coffee are expected.

Yanker, VG and the rest of you Cougers Be Safe on your drive to HenryLand!

GO PATS !!!!!

Thanks my "Winged Wonder" of a friend...the YANKER cannot wait to get there!!! The YANKER realizes from what I have seen that HC probably has the better team, but I also know that we can win this game!! What great fun it has been, at least for the YANKER, to talk this game up all year long!!! I have enjoyed the "give and take" with all of you (at least MOST of you)...this thread is what the YANKER enjoys!! In case you did not realize it...I AM THE YANKER!!!!!

I wanted to get on and say hi to alll of you before the game. Yanker and VG becareful on your way up. I know the ride home will be very sad for you, but I hope it is safe.

As for the call on Randy, I for one will be up and chearing loudly when he is escorted in :thumb: It is great to have someone with the spirit that he has.

And by the way mom of 77 and fighting irish: Mrs. Poole made no call by herself. I'm sure you can ask Randy about this also, but no calls are made in this county with out Kresky involved.

Fighting Irish: We as patriot fans will not take away from the players, but we WILL be yelling louldly for the Long family.

I still say we should "boo" loudly when Kresky and Poole come into the stadium.

My prediction is HC 24 JCM 12

Good Morning from Big Red Country!! Like wingman said, it is a great day for football with the weather planned to be perfect! I think the grills may already be firing up as I write this. Lots of good fun, fellowship, and of course, FOOTBALL!!! We have been talking about this game since early August and it is finally here. It has been fun, but heartbreaking at times on the road to get here. But that my friends is what builds character among the men of this football program. This may be a game for second place, but it still in my eyes is the biggest game of the year. I want to wish all of the JCM fans good luck, and safe driving (not on the space shuttle!) up the Henryland. I hope that you find our hospitality warm and friendly, except on the gridiron where it should be uncomfortable and inhospitible! So lets get it on!

Patriots and Cougars in a clash of the ages!!!

Go Big Red!!!

Actually the vulgarity was directed at students in the band who were not performing music up to his expectations.

Henry County fans are very intelligent. They understand that Senior night is about

honoring students who have participated in the football program and other areas during their high school career. It would be very disapointing to make a spectical of a fan and detract from our student athletes. It should be about the players.

Comments were made about the band, but the bad language was directed toward the game, either way Randy will be at all of our games, unlike some, He is a great asset with tremendous enthusiasm. He may have his shortcomings, but this man cares about the Patriots,

As for the band, I did hear them last week, that was great, maybe it was due to some prodding by Randy.

Well Yanker, there is just not much more to talk about with the COugars coming to town, they just put very simply, are not very good. The JCM fans do not get on here and that is why you stay on our thread, what else do we hav eto talk about.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
