CAMDEN vs. LEWIS

Personally, I don't think it was needed. Camden had the better team. If it happened that way, the coaches shouldn't have said it and should explain to the parents that thought the players and coaches were doing some talking. Waverly's coaches I know for a fact don't talk and act that way. They are class acts.

I tell you what, you need to ask a few of the Waverly players, they know exactly what was said, now whether they will fess up to it, I really dont know..but they know who they are and what was said....and this Lionfan1 really isnt a Lionfan, they have no clue what is going on and I cant believe they would think our coaches needed to do that to fire up our kids...they don't need to be fired up, they need no help...

The Showdown

This year the game between Lewis County and Camden is considered to be the "Championship Game." I say this because last year it wasn't even supposed to be considered the championship. It was supposed to have been played at Riverside the week earlier.

The Panthers come into the game with a new attitude, if they do not give us the respect we have earned, we will take it. This year it seems to be the same story as the last.

We are expected to lose.

We're Over- rated

SOFT!

LAZY!

Most of all......Waverly should have stomped us!!!!! (referring to Waverly's consistent complaining)

Coach Sharp likes it no other way. It can only go up from here. Still with all of these things said about us, we are still winning games.

Camden, I give you all the respect in the world for your program. But the Panthers will be beaten into a mode of "Win at All Costs" which only comes around maybe once a year. It's the time where Caoch Sharp will find out what will really work and run the plays that will give him the edge. I am also willing to bet that the Kicker will be in top shape come gametime. I also expect the defense to shine for both teams.

I really dont agree with you about the outcome of the game, but I do think the comment about consistent complaining is great...

LCHS is ranked higher in every poll in the state and on the web. Lions, don't think for one minute we aren't the heavy underdogs (once again) in this one. LC has won the region almost every year including last year - against us. They're the favs and will be the favs again. Just wait until the BIG ONES comes out next week and you'll see that the statewide fans will pick Lewis Co. to beat us, again. Take a look at the AP tomorrow and look how you are in their shadow. The truth of the matter is your "you know whats" are going to be to the wall when you march into their stadium at 8-1 to face a 9-0 LCHS team that is accustomed to winning, and winning big at home. Whether winning or losing, the LC Panthers will be kicking and scratching when the clock is past 9:00 next Friday night so ya'll better stay focused and carry your dinner buckets. We believe in you, but it's not a done deal until it's a done deal. Camden has NEVER won a region championship since the inception of regions. Remember that - not one single Football Regional Championship sits at 115 Schools Drive.

I was not very impressed with lewis county last week against Riverside.

The first half Should have been tied.

Riverside moved the ball well but couldn't hit paydirt from inside the 20.

As they have all year. they stoped lewis county on 4th down a few times.

Lewis County has no Kicker or a Quarter back that can hit a wide open receiver.

Their running backs leave alot to be desired. With one exeption in #4 but he is

too small after camden lays the wood on him a few times he will run for the

sideline.

Camden at least by 48

lewis county maybe 12

YOU ARE CRAZY!!!!!!!! and apparently BLIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can throw out all the records, performances against common opponents, and all the hype that one team or the other has been getting. Last year Camden expected to waltz through the region championship because everyone told them that they should...and it bit them right square in the behind. Lewis co came to our house and smacked us in the mouth. Every member of the 2006 Camden team remembers what that felt like and I doubt they'll show up at Lewis co anything less than 120% prepared for what will surely be a battle. Should be a great game between two great teams....But first, the Lions have another 6AA foe to take care of and then we can talk more about this game B)

i believe i will change my prediction...after iv compared waverly's games w/ lewis co, and camden...i see camden gittin more than wat i had them at....they will win this game, and at the end it will look like the rest of camden's games...not close..even if both teams battle hard thro the whole game...camden will adventually show their strength and take a goodsize lead at the end....

Camden: 28

Lewis Co: 7

first i like to say i"ve have been waiting for this game all year everybody has talked about it all season saying this would be the one to watch next i like to say as for the comment about lewis co has no quarterback or kicker well i guess we will just have to wait and see cause according to some comments everybody has a bad night but they still manage to bet them 39-0 but i guess that was due to mistakes as for camden havn't seen them play about #4 running to the sideline

after camden lays the wood to him he may be little but he is tough so i guess will see how this one turns out

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
