Maryville vs Halls

Great to hear from you again Fairplay :thumb:

Fairplay if we plan to be conservative which I think we will. This will lead to more than one punt from O'Conner. My main concern will he out kick his coverage like the third Quarter of the Sevier Co. game and hand Maryville some easy scores. The danger exists in a very capable punt returner named Maples.

ZCAR,

To me, you take the punt return off the table by kicking to a point out of bounds. Even if O'Conner loses 5-10 yards, he still gets great net avg. This makes Maryville drive for points which takes more time and either keeps the scoring to a minimum or at least takes away one great chance for a big play. It also shortens the game. If Halls is close late and has a chance to win, great! But make Maryville drive.

I want you on our special teams staff. Everyone can see we have to kick out of bounds tonight on the punt lets see if we do it. Try to keep the quick strike on special teams to minimum if we can. Just one fans humble opinion now becoming two fans opinion.

I noticed the kiddie pool at the Y being over crowded yesterday I thought it was due to no bubble baths this friday night because of the mud bowl game at the Crossroads. There is only so much water to go around in our community.

Final Marvulle 42 Halls 10, I never seen such poor tackling but I guess that goes to show since Halls has like 7 soph. of defense. Good Game to the Rebels. Since dont understand how 3 slants can all go for big touchdowns. Field wasnt in to bad of shape except the sidelines. Good luck on the rest of the season.

With 8:38 to go in the second quarter it was 35-0 Maryville. Many kids got to play tonight. Serves maryville well for depth building and future seasons. Thought the Halls kids played hard but are handicaped by a STUPID offense. They just don't have the personel to run the wing T.

Good game and good luck Halls.

    • Gleason all over west Carroll in scrimmage. Gleason is big and fast
    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
