If Maryville could upset Hillsboro in 2001 and 2002, then anything can happen.

You have to get to the championship game first.

The best team does not always win on a given night.

I agree that anything can happen, but you can't really call those wins in 2001 and 2002 upsets.

Believe me when I say this only Maryville will defeat Maryville this year. They are to strong in all facets of the game. The only thing that has caused some concern this year is turning the ball over. But even with that their record speaks for itself.

I'm not tied to Maryville program either but year in and year out this team keeps bringing up well trained talent and it is so businesslike its scary.

The new 4A/5A cut offs will be interesting. in Region 2 4A Crockett, Mo-East, & Mo-West would probably be 5A using the current cut offs. I understand Rhea County in Region 3 4A is also. So with Maryville that would be 5 teams in East Tennessee moving to 5A, I don't think TSSAA will do that they will want to keep the number of schools in each classification as equal as possible.

As for Marville and the state this year... well they are undefeated, defending champions so they should be favored but stanger things have happened. Until someone beats them they are the one we are all trying to catch.

My main focus no matter were they came from is their weight training program(I threw that one in for you Diver),execution, play selection & overall discipline is what I admire. I think there would little if any fall out from them moving up to 5A at this point in time.

 

Diver I enjoy the sparing too.

The only thing I'm touchy about is there being enuff water for the little children of the Crossroads to get a bubble bath on Friday night.
