IrishBBall
Any predictions on Catholic and Powell tonight? This will be the second Catholic game I have been to. I saw them play CAK, but that wasn't really a game. In typical Catholic fashion, they gutted out a 1 point win over Powell. Catholic trailed by 8 late in the fourth quarter but Ryan Walden hit a HUGE 3 to cut the lead to 1 and Harrison Smith caught a sidelines out of bounds alley oop with less than 10 seconds for the lead/win. Powell struggled to handle the ball late in the game turning it over down the stretch. Hargis struggled to guard Walden who repeatedly blew by him for pull up jumpers. Conner played big for Powell but nobody else seemed to do much during the game. BIG win for the Irish!
FLMS
No team I respect more than Catholic. Way to represent 4AA. Our region is taking care of buisness against the bigger schools

Total class though.
BBallFan31
Don't want to take away anything from a great win by Catholic, but could Powell have been a little "hung over" from their big rival and district foe Halls? Maybe Catholic didn't get Powell's best shot, but anyways, sounds like Catholic played a great game, and I bet the out of bounds alley-oop was incredible. Considering that Catholic has beaten Powell 3 out 4 games, why would they not play their best? By the way the win gave Coach Hutchens his 300 career victory at Catholic. Congratulations to Coach Mike
HappyHour22
Does anyone know what happened to Anderson county vs Powell? I thought this would have been a great game. Anderson County's size vs Powell's quickness.
chill
Does anyone know what happened to Anderson county vs Powell? I thought this would have been a great game. Anderson County's size vs Powell's quickness. Powell played extremely well just like they always do at home...31 foul shots to 3 didn't help either.....Powell had a 16-0 run in the 2nd quarter and never looked back..... SliderSport
catholic has one of its biggest line ups they've had in quite some time starting 3 big guys with harrison smith being the shortest. matt crawford has stepped up his game a lot from last year with confidence to attack the rim, also hes been a very good shot blocker. sophomore daniel hood has been very impressive from the 5 position getting offensive rebounds and blocking shots. with harrison you get what you expect, a big athlete that runs the floor and blocks shots. ryan walden has done a good job with the move to point guard. michael conaty has looked really good as a scorer this year. guards adam ponzurick and cody smith have looked good off the bench. guys like paul hook, demarcus mitchell, and mark david kennedy have looked good down low off the bench. all in all catholic has one of its deepest teams in quite some time. Catholic is playing very well. They had a few games when they quit playing as a team, but seem to be back on track once again. If they continue to play good defense, work TOGETHER offensively, they will continue to improve and impress many doubters. Way to go Irish!!!!!!!!! jimmy dolan
looks like its going to come down to the wire between catholic, loudon, and ac. ac has beaten loudon once and plays them at their place this friday. ac will have their hands full because beating loudon at loudon is easier said than done. plus, ac still has to play catholic twice. all three are quality teams with the ability to be really good at times. all three have also struggled at some point as well. who will take home the district crown? it ought to be interesting!
