High School Only

You go with Troy Fleming and Ralph King at running backs

Rushing Yards Career

Troy Fleming Battle Ground Academy 9,442 1995-1998

Rushing Touchdowns Career

Ralph King Riverdale 95 1998-2001 (48 in one season!)

Steve Spurrier was a pretty fair ball player at QB

And Doug Atkins went to UT on a basketball scholarship! http://www.profootballhof.com/hof/member.jsp?player_id=17

He was amazing in college and the NFL though!

Tennessee has three Hall of Famers in the NFL:

No one has mentioned one of them :thumb:

No one has mentioned one of them You might want to go back to the first page and read. The topic asks for best high school career. That would eliminate most that excelled after college. Steve Spurrier excelled in HS but after a few seasons in the NFL he faded. Reggie White really turned it on in the pros. In HS basically what were talking about is who was All American.

I mentioned Fleming in the first post.

I was referring to the three players in the NFL Hall Of Fame - and how one was not mentioned - until someone saw the link and mentioned that Lynn Swann was

from Alcoa.

Let's go to the booth:

Based on records and by your posts, here is my top five;

1. Troy Fleming-records speak for themselves

2. Reggie White-hard to judge a lineman's HS career without looking at his entire career

3.Ralph King

4. Gaston Miller

Two great running backs from Riverdale

5. Joe Longmire-Reliable Running Back who is in the top 5 in many TN offensive catgories

Joe Longmire was good.Longire didnt hardly run the ball in the second 1/2 of most of his teams games. He was the Best Offensive Player in the Clinic Bowl (1995) -vs- BGA Heck all of those guys were good. But -

Patrick Willis - Bruceton Central 1999-2002 had some career.

He was a Mr. Football Finalist on offense and Defense. He won Mr. Football on defense. He should have won both. He plays at OleMiss where he is a finalist for the Butkis Award and Lombardi Award. Some polls show him as the best MLB in the country and a first round draft pick. ESPN the magazine wrote an article about him. Not bad for a kid from Bruceton.......

What about Al Wilson? He was a player. National Champion at UT and STUD in the NFL.
