Just got my report from the Cocke County girls.

Lady Red was up by 4 at the end of one.....Greeneville led by 6 at the half......Cocke County played it close - and was ahead by 3 according to my source at the end of three.

Then apparently things fell apart for the Lady Red in the 4th....

Any Greeneville folks that can verify this game? Yours truly had a class tonight.

Well, PTS you had every scenario except what happened, and DZ, you got all three.

Standings (or for some teams, should we call it Fallings?)

Greeneville 6-0

Jefferson County 4-3

Cocke County - 3-4

Morristown West 3-4

Morristown East 2-4

Cherokee 2-5

Cocke County owns the tiebreaker (for now) with both West and East, but still has games with both, and is the only one done with Greeneville.

West at Cocke County, Jeff at East Friday night, very important games.

A week ago, I am picking Cherokee to beat West, now West is the HOT team. What a strange season.

STANDINGS NOW

Greeneville 6-0

Jefferson County 4-3

Cocke County 3-4

Morristown West 3-4

Morristown East 2-4

Cherokee 2-5

REMAINING GAMES:

Greeneville (6-0): Cherokee, @ West; East; @ Cherokee

Jefferson County (4-3): @ East; Cherokee; Greeneville

Cocke County (3-4): West; @ East; @ Cherokee

Morristown West (3-4): @ Cocke County; Greeneville; East

Morristown East (2-4): Jeff; Cocke Co; @ Greeneville; @ West

Cherokee (2-5): @ Greeneville; @ Jeff; Cocke Co.

BEST POSSIBLE FINISH

Greeneville 10-0

Jefferson County 7-3

Cocke County 6-4

Morristown West 6-4

Morristown East 6-4

Cherokee 5-5

Now, with Greeneville beating everyone the first time through and Cocke County the 2nd time through....We'll call all four remaining "precincts" in favor of Greeneville....and look at the best possible finishes....

ALL LOSE TO GHS + BEST POSSIBLE FINISH

Greeneville 10-0

Jefferson County 6-4

Cocke County 6-4

Morristown West 5-5

Morristown East 5-5

Cherokee 4-6

Cocke County holds their own destiny in their own hands....with games with West (Won by 11 in December), East (Won by 2 in January), and Cherokee (lost by 4 in January)....Three winnable games, Three losable games. Cocke County's best news is that they are the only team in the conference done with Greeneville.

Each team- aside from Greeneville - has the capability of losing 2 of their last 3, winning two of their last three (Except Cocke County, they can win all three), or losing all three..

Buckle up. Gonna be a bumpy next three Fridays.....

Your CC girls looked really good until Depew went down just before the half with some sort of Knee injury. She came back in the second half but did not seem as crisp. Greeneville had a decent lead after 3. Dickson fouled out but had a spectacular game.Nice to see her play with some authority. The most pleasant surprise tomight was Lamons. Was good on defense...crashed the boards like a 6-footer and had some nice shots. Did not get any stats but there were a lot of ticky-tack fouls called both ways and some questionable to's that went against CC.

Greeneville, West and Cherokee in an upset.

Well RR, I didn't have to go out on a limb for any of them, though I had to wait a little bit for the Cherokee comeback. Since no one else made picks though, it won't be any fun to brag :thumb:

I'm gonna take a shot at predicting how the rest of the season works out

REMAINING GAMES:

Greeneville (10-0): W vs. Cherokee, W @ West; Win vs. East; W @ Cherokee

Jefferson County (6-4):W @ East; W vs. Cherokee; L vs. Greeneville

Cocke County (5-5): L vs. West; W @ East; W @ Cherokee

Morristown West (5-5): W @ Cocke County; L vs. Greeneville; L vs. East

Morristown East (2-8): L vs. Jeff; L vs. Cocke Co; L @ Greeneville; L @ West

Cherokee (2-8): L @ Greeneville; L @ Jeff; L Cocke Co.

I'm sure it won't work out that way, with maybe east picking up a win either against CC or Jeff. Cherokee has two tough road games, though they have the ability to beat Jeff.

At this point in the season, I don't think it matters who finishes where, except for earning the No. 2 bye. Anyone can beat anyone at this point, other than greeneville.
